He's home! He gave us a huge lecture the whole way here about how he was being abducted, and he wanted to go back.

I found out why they didn't want him. He pulls out the fur on his back legs and tummy. It looks like he's been shaved. I think this is some sort of nervous condition.

I'm making an appointment with my vet on Monday and we are taking him in. I think he may need some medication to stop the obsessive pulling.

The boys have both hissed at the door, so we are going to take this introduction really slow.

I'm exhausted right now, so sorry if this post isn't making a whole lot of sense.

Awwww poor boy, he deserves a home like yours
Hopefully you and your vet can help him, and he'll have a nice big luscious coat very soon
Hope the night goes well!

His nervousness will probably all clear up. He'll be too distracted by the presence of your cats!
How exciting!

You will be wonderful with him. Look how Scratch has grown and calmed down. There may be a bumpy road to begin with, but you have more than enough love to go around.

That's what has me worried. I honestly think he was shoved in a room for a long period of time. When I can get him to come out and I pet him he just gives me the saddest look.

There’s some good news though, the boys seem to be getting a long better. They are both hunkered down by the door sniffing.

EDIT: To calm my nerves I ate a whole éclair. It was wonderful!

Heather, the thing with cats ......... is that you can develop trust with them. He will know that you are there to care for him. I strongly believe cats can feel this. Just be really gentle with him and you will see him flourish as soon as he realizes his enviornment is safe.

Dont let his eyes worry you but bring you closer to him.

You know how scared Scratch was when you first got him, and look how much he's improved now

My Lily was scared and sad looking when we got her, and while she's still a scaredy cat, she's sooooo much better.

You know he'll settle down - it may take a while though.

And - mmmmm eclair....

Thanks I needed to hear that. This is so funny. When 8-Bit came, he ran around the apartment for half an hour and then fell asleep in my lap. When Scratch came he hid for over a week. This little guy seems to be coming out when he wants attention, so I don't think it's going to be too long before he comes around.

Well Scratch just dug through the box the previous owners gave us and took out all the toys. He is now running around the apartment with a squeaking mouse.

You will do it, I think the most important thing is to show him you love him and you want him, make him feel that. He is probably just so scared right now. He just needs to know that you are not gonna lock him up somewheres.

I am sending hugs and prayers from Mississippi for you and Dr. Claw

What a sweetheart
The smell of Claw obviously isn't too worrying for him

So good to hear that Dr. Claw is home with you. He just needs some time and love and I'm sure he'll be fine. He is so much better off with you than with his previous owners.

Dr Claw is hiding now; he hasn't eaten or used his litter box.

I just had a moment where I thought I was a total failure as a Cat-Mom, and 8-Bit just proved me wrong. While I was getting my 5am cuppa of coffee I rounded the corner back into the living room feeling sorry for myself. 8-Bit was lying on his back with all four paws in the air saying, "Rub my belly Meowmy! I love you!"

He can be a royal pain sometimes, but I think he knows when I'm stressed.
