Fred, my 4 yr old male cat, digs frantically at my bed covers, TV blanket and my clothes (when i'm in them). I think it is an attention getting mechanism. Or possibly a need to get closer through the covers, clothes.

Does anyone elses cat do this? I've never had a cat that did.

No, just frantic almost angry digging.

Karma does that, but only to my sweatshirt, also when I am wearing it. It was th efirst thing I wrapped her up in the very first day she came into the house. She was wet cold and had a hurt foot. It was the first thing I could grab. I think it gives her a comforting memory. She calms down after I take it off and wrap her in it.
Your kitty may just be triing to get close to you and feel safe.

OMG I thought Saki was the only one!! He frantically digs on my covers ALL the time! It is so funny. Its mostly when I just put the blankets down from being washed, or put some towles on the bed or clothes, he will dig really fast and then sit down on them

my Dexter does the same thing, drigs really fast on the conforter, on his 'box lid', and on the couch and chair. It's when he gets really hyper and usually he'll run off right after or chase his tail. I think he's just getting rid of some energy. It's really funny!!

Mine dig the the covers when I'm under them. I think they are trying to play.If I move my legs or feet at all they start digging.

That's a relief. It makes me nervous sometimes as it is very much like litterbox behaviour. Fred has had a few 'accidents' on the bed, so I'm hyper awaare.
