I am not sure where to post this, so if it is not in the right place please feel free to move this.
When I look at petfinder I often see dilute calico. I feel stupid asking, but can someone please tell me the difference between the two?

Calico like yours is red(orange) and black(brown) and white.
In a dilute the red is cream or peach and the black is blue.

my baby is a calico -> http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...a/IMG_0367.jpg

and this is a dilute

The dilute is exactly that, the colours are diluted and blended a little more, instead of solid blocks or bold. Orange is cream, and black is grey. That's my best explanation, with cute pictures! :P

Make sense?

You should resize that one picture, it's over the size limit I think. :S

Both types of calico's are cute though.

All done :P

It's so weird, i realised that the orange bits on Jasmine are tabbylike, but the black is just black. Then i googled calico tabby and it came up with a different cat. But i like to think the reason she is so psychotic is because she's mixed lol

Actually, the tabby pattern shows up on the orange and black patches always. White never shows it. On the black you have to look really close and in the right light.
