Keith...no promises but forwared your flyer on Audrey to president of my Humane Society. We have quite a few adults in need of a forever home so I am not sure if we can do anything to help...hope so though...she sounds like a sweetheart.

Will let you know...

Keith...there are just too many adults at the adoption center right now for Audrey to come in...but...I do have an OK to post her pic. w/bio on Petfinder under our organization's name.
If you want her listed, PM me and you will need to email me a pic. of her...preferably a close-up...I will resize it and upload it.

Thank You So Much for doing that leesali !!!
It looks great !!

And thank you everyone else for making phone calls and
emailing people you know and for the good wishes.

what a week. knot in my stomach. this one lady has come very close
to getting audrey adopted by either close friends or family. but one bad
thing after another and here it is friday and still no luck....

BUT.... this lady got her daughter in law to say yes to a third cat IF and
only IF this lady that i work with can convince this womans husband,
this ladys son, to ALSO say yes LOL !!

so at this very moment she is in communication trying her best to convince
her son to take on a 3rd cat.

IF he says yes, then audrey will have to spend a few days at this ladys
house until she can bring her to her sons house. she also has a cat.

SO PLEASE CROSS ALL FINGERS AND TOES AND PAWS and say whatever
prayers you can and send lots of "please adopt audrey" vibes !!

this is going to be one long day until i hear for sure. i want them to say
yes so badly i have a stomach ache !

Hoping it works out w/lady & husband saying yes to a 3rd. Please let me know asap what happens...it looks like we may have an opening for Audrey...someone got adopted & there may be a spot open over the weekend. Okay to email directly: [email protected] I will then give you my phone number for quicker communication.

Keeping fingers crossdd for Audrey

If they can provide her with a good home and care for her well, thats great!

It just gets me a little worried that the husband and son havent agreed to wanting another cat, I would feel bad if she lived in a home where half of the family didnt want her.
We wouldnt want them returning her to a shelter.

If I knew the sons/husbands email I could tell them personally how wonderful audrey is since I have cared for her and know she would be a great family member.

thank you leesali !!

and don't worry keith.

these people have saved lots of cats before. there is no way they would
turn her in to a shelter.

it is a husband and wife.... no son involved.

the wife said okay and the husband is just worried about a 3rd cat
getting along with his other two because he heard females don't normally
get along with each other.

but there is no way he would put her out or turn her in to a shelter.

he is actually horrified to hear that if we don't find her a home that she
will have to go back outside.

they live in upstate new york.

his mom who i work with would have to keep audrey until she and her
husband could drive audrey upstate.

i told her to tell her son that if they want to do this on a trial basis to
see if audrey will get along with their other two kittys that we would
be fine with that.

they are wonderful animal people. all their cats in their families were rescues.

she is leaving here at 330 and i hope to have an answer by then.

all fingers crossed.

okay so the final answer was no due to some kind of complicated reasons.

they feel very badly as they are wonderful animal lovers.

but i am fine with their answer. i don't want to force anyone.

they are very worried about audrey and they don't even know her.

i spoke to lisa (leesali) and what a sweet heart of a woman she is !!!

she has all my contact telephone numbers and we will be touching base tongiht.

keep all fingers, toes and paws crossed.

Spoke w/Prettyboy...very dedicated to Audrey & sweet

Last we left off, Prettyboy was going to check out our adoption center just to make sure all was comfortable for Audrey in case of an opening. Hopefully, there will be some adoptions over the weekend and we can get her in there.
It is a wonderful place for kittens/cats...she will have lots of fuzzy friends to play & sleep with, lots of open arms to hug her & kiss her fuzzy face...toys, food, warmth & medical attention if needed.
Hope it works out for her...will keep you updated.

Still sending prayers and hugs for Audrey, she so deserves a home that is warm. She doesn't deserve to spend the rest of her life outside in the cold.

thank you lisa.

my friend and i went there tonight. thank goodness she came with me
i never would have found it LOL !! not used to traveling in nassau county
and of course we chose to go right after work when there was a ton
of traffic so it was good to have a navigator with me.

the place was wonderful and the ladies there were wonderful.

i love the cat trees and toys and beds and lots of large cages with tons
of beds and toys and everything a kitty could need or want.

one little one eyed kitty was having a ball batting around his toy mice !

people were there adopting as we visited. i think one was there to pick
up a cat and then more people came in to look at the kittens but were
told that they were all adopted except for one. i wonder if they adopted
that one ?

and then another lady said someone else was coming in tomorrow to pick
up yet another cat.

the lady in charge of adoptions sounds like she is very careful in who
she adopts to and i love that they tell everyone that if it does not work
out that they want the cats back. that is so important !!

just so happens that the lady at work who was trying so hard to get
audrey adopted had brought me a bag full of kitty toys. so i decided that
since my babies already have tons of stuff that i would give it to those
kittys. i hope what was in the bag was useable. i did not get a chance
to really go through it. my friend was so impressed by this place that
she made a donation to them while we were there.

i had to drag her out because we had to go pick up her son who was
waiting for us an hour away LOL !!
she totally would have spent the night !

i'm glad we got to go. it was a good visit.

thanks for calling them and letting them know i was coming lisa.
remind me to tell you a funny story about my visit.

since we did not know quite what was happening with whether or not
you had a space opening up i called the vet before they closed and told
them that i might have to board audrey until monday and they are fine
with that. they close early tomorrow and so i had to let them know what
i was doing with audrey today.

but if we do manage to hook up and i can manage to get audrey before
the vet place closes then we can do this tomorrow otherwise i guess we
will have to do this on monday or tuesday ?

thanks again for all your help. we so appreciate it !

It truly is a "romper room" for kittens/cats...lots of toys, condos, etc.

I believe that cat is Phoenix...sad story but as you can see, he is doing great.

We are VERY careful w/adoptions. The woman you met, is in charge of adoptions & does a fantastic job!!

i had to drag her out because we had to go pick up her son who was
waiting for us an hour away LOL !!
she totally would have spent the night !

We do have people who can't adopt but come in regularly to just spend time with the kittens/cats...I totally understand about getting lost in time there.

thanks for calling them and letting them know i was coming lisa.

Give me a call today...will be home...want to hear your "funny story".

Will find out how the adoptions went last night & if there is an opening. As soon as I hear something, I will call you & hopefully I can meet you at the adoption center.

Audrey will be in wonderful hands if we can get her in.

Forgot something...just in case you were not told...

We are a NO-KILL organization!! Most of our rescues are taken from a kill-shelter & the other rescues (unfortunately) are "dumps".

We function purely on donations...bedding, food, toys, condos, etc. and of course money keep us going. The donations go towards rent, cages, food, medical expenses, condos, etc.

Once every 6-weeks or so, we work w/North Shore, where their van comes to our location and our kittens/cats are on the van for adoption...great exposure for the animals (dogs included from No. Shore).

We have the cooperation of 3 vets. where we have access 24/7.

If we get kittens that are under 2 lbs. - they go immediately into foster care until they are of age to be adopted...the same goes for adults who need medical-rest time or need socialization.

Honestly, we truly are fortunate to have such dedicated members & volunteers who pour themselves into these kittens/cats.
