I want to hear a tale about your cats tail.....
Ok, I just want to know what your cats tail is like, and wanted to get tale in a sentence along with tail...

Our girls all have very different tails.

Stumpy's tail was amputated when she was in a car accident, so just has her little stump. And it's so cute when she wiggles her stump when she's annoyed, or getting ready to pounce
I'm ALWAYS playing with it!

Lily has her loooong elegant tail which is absolutely beautiful. She always wraps it around her front feet when she's sitting up and looks like a queen
Her fur is really smooth as well, it sits very close to her skin which makes it longer!

And Smudge's tail is so fluffy and thick! When she was a teeny little thing it was so skinny and ugly (sorry sweety, but it was...
) - we kept calling it a rats tail because that's what it was like! But as she got healthier and put on weight, her tail got so thick and fluffy, and now it's absolutely beautiful, and DH and I both love playing with her soft tail

What about your kitties?

Well -

Melchett is 13, and came to us aged 6 with a wonky tail with a bent end!!! I guess he got it shut in a door or something like that. He HATES having it touched and thrashes it from side to side !! The only time I can get near it is when I am grooming him - he will let me very carefully brush it - just once every time I brush him!

Ben is a little soft squashy ball of a cat with a lovely thick coat, and a funny little tail which look like it should be a good three inches linger to fit then rest of his body.

Max's tail is like the rest of him - long and skinny - he has a little bend in the end - if you stroke the length of it, you can feel a tiny bend before the last two little bones - I think it was bent when he was tiny, but I don't know how.

My lovely Paddy, bless him, had a long, expressive tail which I used to curl through my fingers - he was quite happy to let me play with it for as long as I liked, just as long as I was making a fuss of him - I shall miss tail time

Glad that you asked! You will note I am practically the only person on this site who thinks enough of their cat's tails to include them in the siggy! I have often wondered why this was so as the tail is such a beautiful part of a cat. (I admit I am partial to my Himmy's tail) but I could never have imagined making a siggy for them without showing their tails. Guess other people just do not appreciate cat's tails? Anyway, I am weird, all you have to do is look below to see about my cat's tails!

I think it's just hard to get the full kitty in such a small space and still see their pretty faces

I need your kitty's tale still though! Do they like it being played with? Do they express themselves with it? Do they have any kinks in their tail?

Kitty tails are so cool

I'd be hard pressed to get all 6 tails and heads in my sig, though, now that you nention it, maybe I'll take cat butt pics and have just their tails for a sig

Spaz has a regal tail, full plumed and always properly curled around her.

Vash and Shadow have extremely long, skinny rat tails

The only time their tails aren't in motion is when they sleep.

Trouble has the very expressive tail, it talks almost as much as he does. In looks, it's the typical cat tail, not too long, not too short, not too fat or skinny, and with a barely noticable taper and a teeny, tiny kink at the end.

Cassi has typical tail, but no matter what she's doing, she holds it in a question mark.

Bug has a full plume, extremely long tail, but it hasn't yet learned how to fully communicate.
It has two positions, hanging limp, and straight up sheppard's hook.

Scratch's tail is long and expressive. It has a kink in the very end. Squee's tail is very long and slender, and the tip of her tail is orange.

Twitch's tail is how she communicates. It's fluffy(not like a LH, but like in a DSH way
) & she's always got it wrapped around her. Ophelia's tail is puffed up 99% of the time as she's agitated. Damita's tail drags on the ground most of the time, but when she figures out where she's going, she sticks it up in the air. Dorian's tail is always straight up in the air with a lil bit of a curve at the tip. Lily's tail is usually straight up in the air.

All of my girls have different tails.

Much has the short stubby tail of the Manx. She swishes that stub when she is irritated with DH.

Lucy has the beautiful one which she flicks into my morning cereal if I'm not careful.

Poor Carly has one that just hangs there. She had been injured before we got her and we just don't know her history. Through x-rays we know that at one time, she had broken her back leg and it set itself without a veterinarian's care. We have to be careful that we aren't standing on it because she doesn't feel it. You can hear it whack things as she jumps down. But she is a sweetheart.

Ophelia has a long and elegant tail. She will occassionally let me touch it, when she occassionally lets me pet her.
But when Daddy is loving on her, we can tell that she's happy because she gets a "turly tail" where the end curls into a complete circle.
And she also wraps her tail around Daddy's arm to stake her claim on him.

Trent has a big ol' floofy tail, but it is kinda short. He lets me mess with it whenever I want to, and I love to grab it when he gets irritated and gets "pissy tail".
He's such a laid back kitty!

Ginger has a pretty long and elegant tail, but it isn't terribly expressive. I love her tail, though, because she has rings around the end of her tail like a raccoon!

Mojo's tail is long and pretty elegant. But she's still a kitten so she's still learning how to talk with it.

Seamus has a long, graceful, tabby tail with a white tip. He likes to sit with it curled around his front legs. When Gator first came to us as a kitten, Seamus used to tease Gator with his tail. Gator's tail is about half the length of a normal cat tail. We're not sure what happened to it. The vet said he could have been born with it short, or it could have been chewed off by rats. He was found as a baby in a barn with no momma. I think his short tail kept him from being a good jumper for over a year. He's only in the last couple of months figured out how to jump up higher then a chair.

Quill's tail is what he was named for. It is long and so full that often when he is sitting in his favourite pillow by the window he will let me just rest my head on it. I love his tabby white tipped tail, for what he was named for, it seems like a writing quill, and that is his name because of it. It is so soft and just makes him for what he is. When ever he sees me that's the first thing he does; spring! goes his tail and the rest is pure, gentle love. It's his pride and joy

Radar's tail is so long! It curls round by his back feet when he is standing up. It is very thick with hair - Radar is a shorthair but I think he has more hair follicles per square inch than any other cat around! It is mostly black but has a lot of white hairs in it also. I love feeling his tail, it is very soft and fluffy for a shorthair and has quite a substantial feel to it.

Sonic's tail is like a little radio antenna! It is thin and bony rather than soft and thick and fluffly like Radar's. He likes to go to one of my shoulders then circle my head going from one shoulder to the other with his tail rubbing up against my face. His tail spends 95% of the time in the 'flagpole' position - straight up in the air!

Wonton's tail has a mind of it's own.. he chases it and he does the cutest thing - when he's sitting there grooming himself, if I pick up his tail and show it to him - put it close to his nose - he'll clean it!
I mean obviously he cleans his tail on his own too, but nine times out of ten, if I hand him his tail when he's grooming, he'll start licking it and sometimes even nibble on it :p

I like when he's running around from the nightly crazies and his tail gets all puffed up. Its different than when he's angry - I know when he's mad, to stay away if his tail is puffed (TRUST me, I know), but when it's just puffed from the crazies he doesn't mind if I touch it..and I can't help wanting to, cos it turns into this HUGE puffer tail, and I can't help reaching out and running my hand along it.

cat tails are fun

Elora's tail is slender but not very long. I've often wished it were longer...there's just something so elegant about a cat with a lonnnnnng tail! Mia on the other hand...she has a little nub of a tail! We're not sure how this came to be, maybe an accident after she was born...but its just sooo cute! She 'wags' it like a dog would! LOL! Too funny!

That would make for an interesting twist in the "The "who's kitty is this" game!" thread, it could be "guess this tail/butt".

Sho has a somewhat thick tail that's always straight up in the air when he walks around, it reminds us of a ring-tailed lemur tail. When he fluffs it up his tail kind of looks like a racoon tail. He loves to annoy the kitten by twitching it around.

Tomas doesn't really do much with his tail yet, it's just his tail, though he does chase it sometimes. At his first vet visit the vet actually said he had a short tail?
... it looks normal to me.

It's not a kitty, but I love my baby leopard gecko's tail
if I lightly run my finger down the side of it the tail will gently wrap around my finger.

Nigel has a long, very skinny tail. It often just hangs there like he hasn't quite learned what to do with it yet (maybe it's something he'll grow into?). It's mostly black with just the extreme end of it having a few white hairs on it. Just the other day he puffed it up for the very first time. I thought it was just adorable because it wasn't a very "good" puff so it still looked skinny and sort of pathetic and certainly not very intimidating. I love Nigel's tail because it's so silly. Sort of like Nigel himself.

Pekoe's tail is very expressive. It's thick at the base but tapers down at the end. I love that it's orange with darker orange rings around the diameter. A few weeks ago Pekoe went through a phase where he'd puff his tail all the time. I mean at the slightest sound he'd be puffed up. I think he had just figured out how to do it so he wanted to try the time. Peek lets me stroke his tail so I often pet it and wrap it around my fingers while he lays on me.

Mooch's tail is long and sleek. It's all black but like 3-4 white hairs at the very tip!
She likes to walk around with her tail up and hooked like a question mark.

Noodles is not quite as long as Mooch's but pretty long, and kinda fluffy for a short hair. Her fur is very fine and soft. It looks solid grey in pictures, but really there are subtle variations. She likes to swish her tail around and is very expressive with it.

Bunny's tail is short for her body. I love it because she's so round and then has this funny length tail. I don't think she's ever lost any of it though. We got her at age 3.

Pumpkin's tail is long and has light orange circles around the end of it. The tip is a light orange too. He's my handsome boy!!!

Olivia's tail is very fluffy and the hairs are very long and soft.

My RB girl Tinsel had lost the end of her tail twice, so it was a little short and blunt. Glory's tail was a mix between Bunny's look but more sleek. Tiger's tail was long and thick!

8-Bit has a skinny tail that looks so cute when it wraps around him. Scratch's tail is a whole different story. It's long, fluffy and has a cute little kink at the end. He "talks" with it. To the left, he has a question, to the right, he's hungry, if it's straight up he's scared!
