This is a weird case.

Well, we're all human.

It gets weirder.

The news this morning said she wore a diaper during her 900 mile trip so she wouldn't have to stop.

The news anchor said that it just goes to show that there could be weird effects to weighlessness that we're not aware of...and the sports and weather guys cracked up.

I can't believe how people can be so stupid and not think before they do things. She is an astronaut, a dream for quite a few people I'm sure, and she probably just threw it away. I can't imagine that she's going to have a job after this.

This is why most companies have the "No dating" policy in place (and SHOULD be upheld IMO).

Boy, "hell hath no fury", huh?

That is what I was thinking, 2dog.

And that diaper thing is just bizarre.

Now the charge is attempted first-degree murder:http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/02/06/ast...ted/index.html Talk about bizarre!

It's amazing what jealousy can do to a person.

creepy.and insane for sure.

Now NASA are rethinking their psychological testing because of this woman.
I think if you put enough pressure on someone, s/he will break.
I can see doing this if a) you've lost it, and b) the "victim" is 10 minutes across town. But driving 900 miles?!?! That gives a person a LOT of time to think things through, to consider the consequences of your actions, to realize you're driving across country IN A DIAPER!

its the whole diaper thing right?

I grew up and spent alot of my younger years with my uncle(hehe i loved to go there doing the summer riding motorcycles andplaying in the woods) who was pilot during ww2 and later a test pilot. My uncle was friends with many of the early astronauts, i have gotten to meet a few of them(most be where i got my love of flying from), They are just people like you and me.love can do strange things to people.

Well... that....and the whole diaper/ lets wet myself so i don't have to stop to use the restroom so i can go kill someone quicker, the pepper spray, the trenchcoat, the wig, and oh yea the driving 900 miles to be all crazy Not to mention she had a family and kids. Definitely weird! My friend Jameson works for Nasa. I'll have to give him a call and see what he thinks about all this- he got his degree at Ms. State in aeronautical engineering (i think that's what it was) and he's working out in Houston there now...i wonder if he knows her! I gotta see what he thinks on this one

I heard that NASA said this woman's standing was unchanged, and then this morning I heard she was removed from her up-coming space flight. I really think it won't be too long before she is FIRED!

Ok, this whole situation is bizzare and now...
A local restaurant is having a benefit for the suspect and her family. I would post the hyperlink to the news article but it is linked to another forum, so I think it might be against TCS rules. (Mods - if it's allowed, please let me know and I'll post it.)

Yup! I heard a joke on the radio this morning about this:

Q: What fragrance does a female astronaut like to wear?

A: Well it Depends...

Argus Hamilton had a good one, in my local paper:

(Paraphrasing) Astronaut Lisa Nowak went after her rival, wearing a trench coat, a wig and carrying a knife and pepper spray. The next day, E-Harmony matched her up with Ryan O'Neal
