They never play or cuddle. Stumpy plays and snuggles with Lily, and Smudge plays and snuggles with Lily, but they rarely do with each other.
Occasionally they'll be near each other, but that's it. Tonight they went for the laser pointer at the same time, and when they realised they were both playing with it, both leapt back and went to defensive poses - particularly Smudge, she jumped way back, crouched down and leaned away with her ears back and her head down. It wasn't aggressive, and they've never been aggressive, but it was weird.
When we got Lily, Stumpy and Lily ALWAYS snuggled, and Stumpy let Lily try and suckle off her, but Stumpy has never never never shown any interest in Smudge.
I wonder what's going through their little heads sometimes.
