This is BIG news here today. Albany is just south of Salem. Can you believe this guy? Not just once, but repeatedly over a three week period. I'll be curious to hear this idiot's excuse. Be nice if we all got to line up and give him a zzzzzzzzzap, don't you think?

That is just sick

Well, thank goodness the mom had enough decency to turn him in.

I hope they throw the book at him.

He deserves a zap for every year he has lived...plus one more as a reminder.
I think he should be zapped in a place he wouldn't forget too quick!!

I hope he gets what he deserves in prision! How would he like a stun gun used on him?! Colin is a police officer- and the dpt he works for isn't even allowed to use stun guns due to the controversey/risk of death involved with them- so for this guy to use a stun gun on a baby....man....i'd like to give him a few good zaps!

I don't like stun-guns!

Can I just smack him with a tire iron instead

Some people are just plain evil. This man will probably use some kind of mental illness or depression on why he did what he did.

Oh my goodness!! That's horrible!

I can't believe this guy would do such a stupid moronic thing. What I don't understand why did it take the wife/Mother 3 wks to report his tail when they say he did this multiple times.

There wasn't much new info this morning as to his motive. I'd be willing to bet the kid was crying. Who knows...maybe he was trying to teach him an important lesson...like, no no, don't touch daddy's drugs.

They interviewed one neighbor who said the couple was always fighting.

From the Salem newspaper:

An Albany father used a 100,000-volt stun gun on his 18-month-old son, police said Monday. Rian Whittman, 23, has been accused of assault and criminal mistreatment. Police said he used it "multiple times" over three weeks. A police spokesman said there were up to 10 instances.
Yeah, it does make you wonder why it took the mom that long to step up.

I think the mother should be charged too with failing to report the endangerment of her child if it took her that long to report it.

People like this make me sick...I don't even know what else to say.

Let's bring out the arsenal, folks...

People like that really get me,He's just twisted.

It is possible the mother was living in fear of him
At least she had the guts to stand up and expose that sicko,If she hadn't
that abuse could have gone on for years.
It's about time authorities opened their eyes to how widespread abuse really is.

She probably was, but still... she's the mother. For instance, my Grandmother told me when she was growing up, her mom was phisically abused on a regular basis and did not fight back. She was terrified of her husband. One day her he attempted to attack my Grandmother. My great-grandmother picked up a hot poker from the fire and threatened his life. I think many moms would defend their children even if they would not defend themselves.

THere is no EXCUSE to ever hurt a child, I hope he goes to prison and has some nice BIG roommates.

Oh I dont even have any words...........

But I am curious as to why it took the babys mom so long to turn in the dad?? Good grief.......

This was his own flesh and blood?!? I think he needs to be altered so that there is no danger of him producing any more offspring he can harm.

I agree, what kind of mother would sit back and let that happen?

That could be, but I don't care how scared I was, if he was hurting my child I just think all fear would go away. If I am stupid enough to stay that is me, but someone has to look out for the baby. The baby can't take care of himself.

And if it had happend more than once, the father would have to go to sleep sometimes, or go to the potty or something. I mean Geeze Louise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
