I watched him closely yesterday and I think it is the Merricks. After his breakfast (about 2 hours after) he had a bout of diarreha, then last night about 3 hours after supper he had it again.

I'm still going to try and find the bene-bac though. I have been watching him very closely and he is still drinking normally and is staying hydrated....but he's my baby boy and it really upsets me that he doesn't feel well

Dexter & Sadie get diarrhea when they eat rich food.
It's the fat content and lack of fiber I think.
Merrick really did a number on Sadie.

They eat Nutro CC Weight Management dry and the Senior CC wet pouches.
It isn't perfect but at least they don't get the squirts.

Awww...this upsets me greatly too!!!

Hope Mr. Gorgeous can have a firmer stool soon!!! I normally don't like to think of such a lovely man and his pooing habits, but in this case, I just hope it's uphill for Reilly from here!

Excellent news! Seems like maybe it was just the food being too rich - and, I guess, a formula change in that food. But such a good boy for keeping himself hydrated!

Hope all continues to go well for your baby!

Oh I giggled when I read this!

I think that is excellent advice....perhaps over time the Merricks has become too rich for gorgeous Reilly....

I wanted to update this thread and thank everyone that gave their well wishes and suggestions.

I switched Reilly's food last week to Nutro Max (from Merricks) and now he has now been diarreha free for a week

Thank you everyone!!

Miss Mew....
I'm glad that Reilly is feeling better.
Allergies are funny things and the way that they develop is sometimes hard to understand. From what little I know when our *or our cats* have an allergic reaction to something it is a result of our bodies having had all that it can stand of something. In this case it looks like the soft food that he was eating. We had the same problem with two of our cats having sporatic cases of diarrhea. From what they experienced, it was the corn......or grain in the food. I will say that we only feed dry food and switched to Innova EVO over a year ago. We haven't had the problem since. We do, however feed some soft food *about once a week* for a treat and it hasn't shown any problems with the cats. Occasional diarrhea can be so frustrating. We tried the "Health Food Store" route with acidophilus powder sprinkled on their foods........which can't hurt them........but in our case didn't do away with the diarrhea either. Once again, I'm glad that your handsome boy is feeling better.
