Well me and my fiance got a puppy, yay.
Ill give you the story how we aquired this little girl.My fiance works out of town and he and his boss had pulled up to a store out in the middle of nowhere and this little puppy was sitting on the cement outside of it,She was very skinny and can tell she hadnt eaten in awhile(at least not healthy food) so they went into the store and asked the lady about it she said the puppy had just been dropped off outside the store 3weeks before and nobody seemed to care that this had happened.
Well she is about 2-3months old and we are guessing a german shepherd mix,she is going to the vet on tuesday for a check up and shots and all that fun stuff. She is eating well and seems alot happier since she been with us, her name is pepperoni(fiance named her) but i call her pepper. If i could i would post a pic of her but i dont have the option anywhere. But anyway just thought i would give my story on her.

She has been great since she has been here except for on little problem.
We are in the process of house training her but today she hasnt wanted to go outside she has done her business in my cats litter box, My cats havent seemed to mind(prob cause i clean it as soon as it happens) has anyone else been through this while housetraining?

So she did her business in the litter box? Personally, I'd be pleased! Makes things easier to clean. If the cats don't mind, I wouldn't be worried. Usually the problem is dogs trying to eat what's in the box.

I've heard of people training their dogs that way and I have mixed feelings about it. If she hit the litter box by chance, who knows if she'll pick a different spot indoors next time. I wouldn't recommend it.

If she is a puppy, she shouldn't have the decision about going outside. In the dog world, you are the leader (alpha) and have final say in decisions. Qualified dog behaviorists will tell you that most neurotic problems in dogs stem from the fact that they are confused about the alpha role. When they make the decisions, they are alpha.

Well normally she does go outside like yesterday she had no problems going out whenever we opened the door. She hasnt went in the litterbox the past few days and hasnt even went in the house so i think it may have just been a temporary thing like why do i have to go outside and freeze my butt off and the cats just go in the box thing over there
but i do believe she is now fully house trained

Now we just have to start working on leash training,She has never been on a leash excpet for when we have put it on her to get used to it.I dont think think it will take too long she seems to pick up on stuff quite fast and easy.

If she is not house broken I would highly suggest crate training. Oh and every dog owner should get this book: "The Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson, it is the greatest book ever. Also there is a dog forum called www.chazhound.com/forums which is probably the greatest dog forum I have ever been to, check it out, I'm sure you'll learn a lot. And I'm glad there are people in the world like you who care enough to help someone outside of their own species. Also I don't recommend litter box training for dogs, it is very confusing for them.
