If you were stranded....

on an unknown island (think LOST), what 5 things would you want to be there? (and you can only pick 5...and it's a given that there will be fresh water and fish )

Can those 5 things include people? If so then I would bring my boyfriend for company. I don't think that I would bring any of my pets because I think they would be less than thrilled to be stuck on an island. I would bring a tent for shelter, some blankets for warmth, some matches so I could light a fire, and last but not least my laptop so that I can visit TCS while I'm there.

1. My cell phone (so I could call someone! )
2. JOHN
3. Computer w/internet access so I could still talk to all my TCS friends
4. A tent
5. Matches so we can at least start a darn fire!

- books (can a box of books count as a single item? )... including a book of the sort "Surviving on a desert island for dummies"
- a really good pocket knife
- rum
- my mp3 player and a whole box of batteries
- a warm blanket

People are a go!


I would pick:

ok for real this time:

1. swimsuit...it will be a very hott island
2. a big blade/knife.....I can't think of the word right now lol to cut trees to make shelter etc.
3. some rope/string to tie things together
4. canteen(sp??) or something to hold the water
5. flint for fire

A good knife
Something to carry water in
Trees (something to make fire, burn and make rope)
Cave (shelter)
Fresh fruit (to avoid scurvey)

Ok, I cheated and asked my husband who took primitive survival training from the guy who coached Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway. But he could actually do it all with a knife and trees. He knows how to make fire from the wood from a tree. He added that rocks would be a luxury item.

My personal selection:
A luxury resort fully stocked with food, drink and wait-staff

I would bring:
1. My Hubby, I need someone to keep me company and what better company?
2. My cats along with a shelter for them(complete with a battery operated a/c)
3. a do it yourself shelter complete with all the food you can eat kit.
4. a cell phone complete with a tower for reception
and 5. a generator that runs on water so that I can live in the lap of luxury, with my a/c's, stove, tv, computers, electricity, and all the comforts of home.

(sorry, I don't do well on islands! )

a case of sunblock with SPF 30 or higher

an encyclopedia

Norm Abrams w tools so he could build a house and a boat

a case of insect repellant

a never ending battery run dvd player and the best of Billie Holiday

DH
Rambo Knife with all the stuff
Seeds (for vegtables, fruits, herbs etc.)
A set of pots and pans
Shelter

Why all this?

Because I could shop ALL day online for ANYTHING I've ever wanted Including a boat to get the hell outta there

Yeah, I don't rough it. I once told my husband my idea of camping was staying at a hotel with no room service. I think he thought I was joking. I was dead serious.

A couple of us did

Ohmygosh...lol I like the real roughing it so when I came back to read this I thought not many tom-boy, roughing it in the wild kinda girls here LOL

I would bring my hubby and my 4 kids with me.Without them, I'd be lost anyways!!!
