Click the "user cp" link near the top left of the page and then click edit vbplaza options. Try changing this setting to no: "Do not receive a PM upon receiving a new Gift?:"

I've never gotten one of those...if I don't look up in the info corner, I have no way of knowing. I mean, its no problem to look up there to check, but I don't usually look there much. For instance, I just noticed that Belinda gave me a margarita!!! (thanks Belinda...Cheers!)...but I didn't receive a message about it and if I hadn't looked up there, I wouldn't have noticed it there.

So...are we supposed to get messages about them and do y'all?

I do get messages telling me that I got a gift, and you are welcome for the margarita too.
