I went there for the first time today with my friend for lunch. It's a restaurant, but as the name says, they have cheesecake for dessert.
They are a bit pricey on their food, but it is well worth it, imo. They have a huge menu, ranging from pastas, to sandwiches, to steak, to more. And, the portions are pretty big, too. We split a piece of cheesecake, which was sooooooooo good. And, the pieces are huge, too. My bill came to $18.00, which I wouldn't go there all the time, but would go again.

**drools** Cheesecake.... MmMmMmMm... You lucky dog you!

My friend had this catalog of cheesecakes, any kind you could imagine. The benefits went towards the local pop warner football team but my hips were screaming "DON'T DO IT!!"

If you do a search on the cheesecake factory, it brings up all of the locations throught the US. It also has their menu to give you an idea on what they have. If you can afford to go there, I would reccommend it .... The cheesekcake is so rich, too!

AP,
Have you tried all of their cheesecakes yet? Have you seen the salads they make? The one with the cheese piled up in a cone shape is neat.

I've tried probably 4 different kinds of cheesecake. Can't remember off the top of my head which ones, but they are all to die for. I usually get the chinese chicken salad, and it's ENORMOUS.

Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorites, as well. I particularly like the shrimp and bacon club and their shrimp scampi. As doe the cheesecake, I am kind of a purist, so I always get original. I think I will try the pumpkin cheesecake when it comes in season, though.

Oh that sounds like a great place to eat! I wonder if they have one in Iowa? I will have to do a search when I have more time. I LOVE cheescake!!! (I should have added that to my obsession list in the other thread
) I make some out-of this-world, to die for cheesecakes myself, if I may say so!
I make a New York cheesecake with a soft chocolate layer on top, a raspberry swirl cheesecake, chocolate marble cheescake, neopolitan cheesecake (it has all three layers just like the ice-cream) and my personal favorite is the New York cheesecake topped with my homemade canned wild black raspberry sauce.

I make them in a springform pan (I even have a heart shaped one) and bake them. They are 3-4 inches high and oh so delicious!!! (guess I'm bragging here aren't I? ) I haven't made one for awhile, they are rather expensive to make since they take about 5 packages of cream cheese and some of them even call for sour cream as well. But I do make them for special occassions...friend's birthdays, Christmas, etc. They are so dang fattening though!!!!!!

Ooohhhhh, your chessecakes sound so yummy, Debby! I dont make them myself, but maybe you could send me your recipes? Can you make smaller portions on those (like the size of a brownie pan or pie pan) I made one of those Jello Cheesecakes & it turned out pretty good my first time I made one.

I don't know if you could scale them down or not....you probably could...but I don't know how well they would turn out in a brownie pan...I have always used a springform pan. I could send you the recipes, but it would take forever to type them all out, maybe you could just pick one and I could send you that...the recipes are rather long!
I would probably get booted off the internet before I finished typing them!

Do you want all chocolate or the chocolate marble one...which is chocolate swirled in it. I will try to get this typed out to you sometime this week before I have to go back to work next week, because then I definetely won't have time... but could you send me your e-mail so I can e-mail it because if I PM it, it would take 10 times to get it all PM'd! And if I don't get it to you by Wednesday, please PM me and remind me...I tend to forget things!

Mmmmm..cheesecake.
We can actually buy Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes at Sam's Club here. Not too much variety, but they are so good!

Debby your cheesecake sound to-die-for! I have a Philidelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecake cookbook that has some great recipes, too. I made a mint chocolate cheesecake for Christmas one year, with those little Andes mints. It was so good, but like Debby said, pretty expensive to make. I may have to make another one for Thanksgiving. I don't like pumpkin pie that Earl insists we have, so I usually skip dessert. Maybe I'll just make him a pumpkin cheesecake!

Pumpkin cheesecake is a great alternative for Thanksgiving! I made one last year and everyone just loved it! It was completely gobbled up in no time...and it was a huge cheesecake and there were lots of other desserts too! It was VERY good.

I make a mean cheesecake myself. I also made a Black Forest cheesecake for a Christmas party last year that was just plain decadent! Chocolate cheesecake, chocolate graham cracker crust and plump, juicy dark cherry topping! Oh yummy! Did a David Copperfield and disappeared right in front of my eyes!

I also make a Praline/Pecan cheesecake, a caramel cheesecake, a key lime cheesecake, and of course the good old-fashioned plain cheesecake. Now I am hungry...maybe I will make a cheesecake for Mike's birthday party on Wednesday!

Debby:

None in Iowa.
The closest are in Kansas City, MO and Minneapolis, MN, depending on where you live.

Ummmm.....My doctor recommended cheescake for a quick recovery. Send some my way. pleeeease???? Yummy.....

Debby, why do I have to live so far from you??? I would be a terrific neighbor! You know, just to sample whatever you are making.

When I was pregnant, I craved Chocolate Cheesecake. Had to have it at least twice a week. perhaps that's why I put on so many extra pounds!
