Sorry if i put this in the wrong post mods, feel free to move it to wherever it needs to go
but anywho, we want to buy some cat trees off ebay and well we kind of gotta go through my brother to do it, but hes at home with my nephew who is still a little sick and crancky from getting his tonsils out on tuesday, I got him to eat a popsicle tho today
and to drink some things
but there are some that are late night auctions here and I dont wanna call my brothers house at like 2-3 am because of the kids (even tho hes up) my mom was wondering what kind of information does she have to give, because she is very iffy on giving out any information on the internet and she doesnt really want to give out her bank number, so can any one explain to me what paypal is and what all information do u have to give also she wants to do it with her credit card rather than a bank card (that and dad wont know what she really buys
) So is that possible??? And what is personal, premier or something, and business and whats the difference, any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanx in advance !!!

You need to give them either a CC (debit) number, or checking account number.
Don't worry about premier or business unless you plan on using it very frequently.
If you want to verify your paypal account, they will deposit minute money amounts into the associated bank account (like 1c to 13c) for you to tell them the amounts.

I have a business account with paypal, I've had it for a few years now and I've never had a security issue with them.

I have used Paypal for many years now. It is a secure way of doing transactions over the internet. It has been around for a long time. From what I remember when I first set it up, and it could be different now, you need a bank account to initially set it up. Once that is done (which is easy) you can then add credit cards to your Papal account. The bank account is just used as a backup in case the credit card has problems. I have never done a transaction with the bank account... I always use the credit card (setting up the credit card is easy too).

I have used Paypal for many years without much of a problem.

One warning though. If you do setup a Paypal account, you might get some spam emails asking to "verify" your account. NEVER do that. Since Paypal is probably the number one account for electronic transactions, the spammers and phishers go after it. As long as you just delete those messages (or report them to Paypal) you are good.

yeah I"ve dealt with paypal for a few years, never had a problem with them. I think they're pretty safe. One thing tho - don't put or keep money in your actual paypal account. for example, if I want to send someone money, I can send it from my bank account, thru paypal, or i can transfer money from my bank account, TO my paypal account, and then to the person. I always choose the first way, because I never want to leave money in the actual paypal account - the reason being, if you do a transaction and someone is accused of fraud-even if it's NOT you, even if it's the other person you did the transaction with, they will freeze the money in your paypal account, and you may not ever get it back.

I've used Paypal. it's very reliable and I've never had any problems with it. The issue is more making sure you buy from reputable buyers. If there is fraud, Paypal will take care of it. They have really good policies on that kind of thing.

She will need to give them her checking account number, debit or credit card number, and her address. They want a little more information if you want to upgrade your account and be able to transfer more money, but I haven't needed that so far.

A word of warning....check the person's feedback before you buy the cat trees! My friend got two of them from the same seller back in mid-Dec. One was okay but the other was missing the base. Since she doesn't know much about ebay I have been handling it for her and let me tell you it has been a nightmare. As of today the base has still not been received. In reading through their feedback this has happend to many other people where the item was damaged or missing parts. Also the trees looked great in the picture but the quality isn't the greatest. I'm not saying that all the cat trees on ebay are going to be like that and probably most are fine but just be cautious and check their feedback.

I wouldn't worry about giving information to paypal. It's very secure, I've used it for years and never have had a problem. Plus if there ever was a fraudulant charge, your not responsible for it.

i have used paypal quite a bit over hte years, and never had a problem with it. You should not have a problem with it, it is very secure, and very efficient too. Just adding my 2 cents here.

I have used Paypal for a couple of years now. I have never had a problem with it. I use it to pay for my items on Ebay so the seller gets the money instantly. I also prefer Paypal when I sell on Ebay. I get the money right away and the people that have bought items from me are happy since they get the item right away.

FYI... I bought my cat tree on Ebay and my cats love it. I need some new siskel rope since they have used the tree so much, the rope is unraveling.
