Kiki is on antibiotics and we are having a little trouble taking the medicine. The last time she was on medicine was when she was tiny. Now she is a big girl and I am finding it very difficult.

The best way I have found is to kneel on the floor, cross you ankles behind you, put the kitty in the middle of your legs with her back to you. Scruff her gently, raise her head slowly and slowly administer the liquid medicine- too quickly and she may choke. Her defense to this attack will be to back-pedal against you and she cannot get away.

Once you are done, give her something special or play with her so she won't hold it against you. Good luck!

I have to agree with hissy there. When Russell got put on antibiotics, I used that method. Though when my boyfriend was home to help one of us held Russell wrapped up in a towel and the other administered it.

And don't forget the treat after the medicine, something to get rid of the taste and aftertaste, though sometimes kitty won't want it.

Good luck with your Kiki. I hope she gets better soon.
