Glad my boys aren't the only plastic freaks!!!! Trout has you so well trained, by the way!!!

Max has a thing about the little mini plastic bags you can buy for sandwiches or left-overs - he loves them tied in a knot so they look almost like butterflies, and will quite happily chase them all over the place. He hides them behind the sofa - I hoovered out the other day and found about a dozen on them stashed in a big plastic pile!!!!

I now have to buy one rolls of bags for the kitchen and one for the cats!!! Still, at 50pence for a roll of 30, it is certainly the most inexpensive cat toy I have seen!!!!

I remember reading....*somewhere*......where cats are attracted to those plastic bags because of the *releasing agent* that is used when the bags are formed, it is oil-based and allows the plastic to easily pull free. Three of our cats actually lick the bags.......but don't bother to chew on them. Now the *noise-free*........softer bags they chew on some. Once again, because of the releasing agent.........I guess.

One of my RB cats, Tara would pee on a plastic bag if you left it on the floor. Needless to say I got into the habit of getting rid of the bags pretty quickly.

I think it is weird that our milk comes in bags (and still buy carton milk because of it)

Magnum says Trout has very good taste if she likes plastic bags and that they are yummy

Guy does this and it makes me crazy! He's so tricky at getting into things, we are running out of places to hide bags. To complicate it more, he's becoming more indiscriminate about what kind of plastic he goes for. It used to be just walmart bags, but now he's even started trying to chew on margarine dishes (with little success, thankfully) and more annoyingly...feminine products.

He's like a drug addict about it. He knows he'll get in trouble so he chews as fast as he can with his ears flat against his head. Or...if he gets into the pads, he'll pick one up and run across the apartment with it till someone catches him.

It's actually not too uncommon. My kitty Jasmine, and my sister's kitties Patch and Lucky all love plastic much to our dismay. We have to watch them very carefully and not leave plastic things laying around. There's a disorder called Pica in which cats crave non-ediable items (ie...plastic) Some people think it's due to an imbalance in the diet...some don't. Just keep an eye on her and try not to leave things like that out.
