Hello,
My cat recently started to sneeze a lot , I am thinking its just a cold like a human gets. Should I let her ride it out or take her to the vet. In the past before I got her, she was adopted before me, by another family who said she had some sinus issues.. I am guessing sneezing is better then it being clogged right?

You really should take her to the vet to get checked out. She could just have a cold but it could also be a respiratory infection that might need antibiotics to get rid of it.

Sneezing could be a sign of upper respiratory disease. If this is the case it should definitely be looked at by the vet. If she's previously had upper respiratory problems (which sounds possible as you've reported sneezing in the past) she's more likely to have a recurrence of the disease. It's not necessarily serious- a cat I used to live with would occassionally come down with it. She'd eat a lot less for a few days, start sneezing, have running eyes and walk around just looking "sick". (Actually if I didn't feel badly for her being ill it would have been pretty cute the way she'd flop herself around like a whining child). After the first panicky visit to the vet we learned to tell when she was just a little under the weather or if it was something more serious. I'd take her to the vet though, because sneezing in cats is definitely something that should be looked at.

No Vacancy...One on the way!
Upper resp. infections are not the most rotten thing but it can weaken a cats immune system and make any pre exsisting conditions worse.
Mikey got a URI while spending less then 24 hrs at the vets office. He sneezed for about 3 days then by the 4th he was barley sneezing. It cleared up on it's own. The antibiotics would be for any secondary infections that could arise from the URI affecting the immune system.

Like someone else had posted, watch for nasal discharge, watery eyes, then you will see a progessive URI and then vet attention is needed stat.

Hope your kitty gets well fast....kitty sneezes are funny to hear but man you sure do feel bad for them.

What kind of cat is she? I have a peke faced Persian who sneezed a lot. Because of his very flat face, he has a lot of sinus trouble. Chronic sinusitis. She probably really does need to be checked out if it's been going on more then a couple of days. She could have allergies, respiratory infection, sinus infection or any number of things.
