I am not good at sharing or posting but I really need some good wishes.
Sunday my husband and I recieved a call that there was smoke and fire trucks at our cooking school we bought last year. When we got there the fire was put out and the fire marshall explained what happened. The business below us had a fire in the chimney of their wood burning stove. (They sell wood fired pizzas) The fire spread to the second floor where we are through the outside wall. The firemen had to bust down both doors rip our floor and walls out to contain the fire. The back of our school is a mess and we are effectively out of business. And the front kitchen was a mess with water everywhere.
We have worked so hard this past year, painting, redocorating, building the business to the point we were just beginning to see great possiblities. I almost burst into tears at all the damage. We took pictures and now we are at the mercy of the business below us insurance which we have not heard anything from nor do we know who the insurance is. I am trying to be strong but almost lost it today when my husband broke down because almost everything we have is tied up in this business. Emotionally as well as financially. As small business owners we don't have much and have done all of this ourselves. We have some money put away to pay the bills while we are out of commission but we have to cancel all our classes and all our jobs for we don't know how long so there will be no revenue coming in and we don't have much in reserve.
But we are grateful that no one is hurt. That the fire was contained quickly and did not consume everything. I know my higher power has a plan and that things will work out but right now I am at a loss. We have options to keep our business going while the kitchen if being rebuilt. But it is freezing here and there is no heat or water at our business but we have to be there to inventory and throw out all the food we had, to board up all the holes and empty the pipes. There is so much to do we are just overwhelmed.
Please if you have any wishes, prayers, vibes for us to have stregnth, not to get mired in self pity and doubt, I would appreciated it.
