I gave the vet the okay to put her to sleep this morning. I couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore. It took all her energy just to breath. I feel like such an ass but I couldn't let her suffer any more. I'm heartbroken. It's hard for me to convince myself that it's not my fault even though I know she was sick before I got her. At least she got to be loved for a little while. I'm surely gonna miss her. I'm going to adopt another kitten very soon. I feel obligated to give another kitten a loving home. I know Seven would want another kitty to have the love that she was given.

Goodbye Seven, we miss you.

I am so sorry she wasn't able to pull thru. I hope you find comfort in knowing you gave her love and a good home in the short life she had.

Jason, as much as it hurts to make that decision, I'm sure you know in your heart that you did the best thing for her. My heart really goes out to you. You gave little Seven the best life possible, if only for a short time. She knew you loved her, and I'm sure she gave you all the love she could. Seven is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you, playing, happy, and healthy.

Jason,

I am sorry for your loss. You might want to consider adopting a slightly older cat next time. They are usually so glad to be out of a shelter that they make wonderful loving pets and you don't have to go through this heartache again.

I am moving this to the Bridge forum now.

Jason, I'm so sorry she had such a short life, but I'm sure you made it as pleasant as possible. Thank you for trying.

Thanks for all your kind words. I'm going to be on the lookout for a kitty to provide a home for.

Hey Jase,

I am so sorry to hear the bad news. Everyone has pretty much said it all. My heart aches.

I am so sorry to hear of Seven's passing. It's always so hard to lose a beloved companion. Healing energy to you.

Sometimes, we've given the difficult task of holding a small cat soul in our hands for only a brief while. But I do genuinely feel that it takes courage to accept that responsibility and bravery to know when to let go.

Although it's difficult to see now, it is nevertheless true that Seven's brief life and illness were made immeasurably better by the fact that you assumed that responsibility with love and obvious devotion to her well-being. You did what was best for her in a situation where most would have walked away and she responded with love and trust. In the end, it's this that matters most.

Jason, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Seven. You did so, so much for this little one, you gave him eveything you had. Just know that you made the last days of his life happy with him knowing that he was so very loved and cared about.
