I'm sending {{{Smoothe surgery}}} vibes to Smudge!! If it helps, the shelter kitten here that had a very similar surgery was back to normal in like 2 days!

Sending lots of vibes your way for a smooth surgery and quick recovery.
I know how you feel as Villy had a general anasthetic yesterday

The vet just rang!!! She said Smudge went through the surgery very well, she's come out of the anaesthetic well, and was just sitting on the vets lap playing with a toy - sounds like my little sweetheart!!!!

She said she thinks this will "fix" her eye problems and she shouldn't need any more work in the future on her eyes. She may have trouble producing tears in the future, so may need artificial tears put in her eyes, but hopefully that won't happen. I'll take her back there in a month or two for a checkup, and hopefully she'll know then how things are going.

I'm so relieved

I'm going to go pick her up now and take her home and play with her for a little while to make sure she's comfortable and not in pain, then I guess I'll have to come back to work....

Thanks for all the good vibes everyone

Oh my heart is doing flip-flops. What a brave, darling little girl she is. I'm praying for a complete and quick recovery for her and that she won't need artificial tears. I can only imagine what relief she must be feeling right now. I know how uncomfortable a speck of dust is in my eye so I can only imagine how much her sweet little eyes must have hurt.

I'm almost in tears because I'm so happy for her and you. Thank you for being such a good meowmy to a special girl.

We're home!!!! You should see the little rascal, you'd never know she'd just been under a general anaesthetic this morning!!!!

Everyone at the vets loved her. They all came out to say good-bye when I picked her up and said how wonderful and playful and sweet she was - I'm insanely proud!!!

The lady on reception even gave us the little ball she was playing with to take home. I said thanks very much, but I don't want to steal the vets toys and that she had plenty at home, but she insisted that she loved the toy and I should take it with me!
So wonderful.

So I'm sitting in my bedroom with her, and she's running in and out of the wardrobe playing with our shirts that are hanging low, and running around everywhere
I gave her a little bit of food and she wolfed it down (she hasn't eaten since last night), so since she looks so good I might give her a bit more then head back to work.

Her eyes look SOOOOOO much better already. They've gotten rid of the extra fur, and the rest of the fur around her eyes is kind of slicked back which makes her eyes look a lot more open as well.

This is certainly the most open I've ever seen her eyes! She'll always be a little "squinty" because she has small eyeballs apparently, and they look kind of sunken in, but she shouldn't be in pain now, her eyes won't be irritated, and the cloudiness should disappear pretty soon.

We've got ointment to put in her eyes for the next 7 days so that will be fun....

So thanks AGAIN for your kind words and thoughts, smudge sends her love!
