She finally threw up a big hair ball around noon today. Then after she has just been laying down on a dresser she lays on and hasn't eaten or drank anything and hasn't went to the bathroom.

we called the vet and they said to moniter her.

Ohh hairball. Mine have thrown up a hairball just once each but they seemed totally fine after that, eating drinking etc. I'd be worried if she is not eating or drinking. You can lift up the scruff of her neck and if it takes more than a second or two to go back down then she is dehydrated and you may want to syringe her some water or canned food.

Well that's good. I'd try giving her some fresh food and water and see if she's hungry.

yes cats can die from it.

But if they get it really bad they will but if it's not that bad then they wont die.

It would be useful for you to know the details about Willows murmur so that when you need to make treatment decisions in the future, you have a baseline idea about her health.
I would watch her very closely and if you have any doubt ...
have your vet check her.

If I can please put my 2 cents worth in.....sometimes it helps to kind of "jump start" a cat once they have not been eating or drinking for a while. I take a small syringe or eyedropper and fill it with water, and just gently dribble it around the mouth. After a few seconds, most of the time they will lap a little and then go and get water.

Perhaps you may want to try this.

Willows in the same spot she was in yesterday and still hasn't eaten or went to the bathroom. She will only lick the water off of my finger to drink.

Ugh.

I think she needs to go see the vet. There could be something else going on other than hairballs.
