Hello - I am new here - I have 2 guinea pigs and an 11 yr male neutered cat and a new spayed all black female, 1 yr. Our older cat does not care about our guinea pigs and rarely pays any attention to them but our new adoptee is fascinated. How can I prevent a problem. Both piggies are in an enclosed large cage. There is no room for Lupe to even walk around the cage but she has learned she can walk on the rail behind the cage (we are in a split level and the pigs cage is on the top level so they can see evrything that goes on). Walking on the rail is dangerour let alone the possible problem with the pigs. How can I train her not to?

Thanks renure

well all I can think of is that every time your kit does this is.........

gentle remove Lupe saying ' no ' firmly, put her somewhere else, you have to keep doing it until she gets the message

another one I use is I clap my hands real loud and say ' no ' at the same time, my kits certainly know that they aint supposed to be doing what they are doing

See I have 2 different ginuea pig cages (boy and female, mom and son) and also A 2 story rabbit cage, and Mama's cage is on the bunni cage and Stormie likes to sleep up there, its not doing no harm and well the gunieas like to mess with her, so I let her sleep there because it is the highest spot in my room, however she does like to mess with the other cages now by putting her paws in it and what I simply do is remove her and tell her NO, now I dont even have to remove her because I will say STORMIE NO, thats bad
, and she leaves them alone!! Mind u she never messed with them until after she got spayed but what are u going to do, she certainly knows how to get my attention
I hope u can figure something out!!!!
