I was just reading about this. After reading what he went through the past few months I wish he went sooner. Sounds like a horrible and painful year for him.

in my thoughts, daydreaming...
I've never been a horse-race follower, but Barbaro's story had me right off the bat. I went through an apex of my own health problems right around when Barbaro broke his leg. Those tense few days after, I was watching with baited breath, almost as if his health and mine were parallel. That he survived the huge surgery and did well for so long gave me such a huge lift in my own confidence. When I got down on myself, I'd think of Barbaro and his strength and braveness, making it through those first few days against all odds.

Of course our stories are much different, and it's sad to see him go. But he held on with courage and resilience when most people didn't think he could ever make it. I'm glad to know he's no longer in pain, and cheers to his owners for doing all they could.

Yes I really think that they did the best that they could. Barbaro is now running at full speed over at the bridge.

How incredibly sad! What a wonderful horse and he had such great promise! I remember watching the race he was injured in and I was really pulling for him to make it! Race swiftly, sweet Barbaro! You're whole again!

I followed Barbaro's plight since seeing the race and I know Barbaro is in a good place now.

Aussie_Dog, among all your pictures in your movie, I just love this one between jockey and horse...

Thank you for making that beautiful tribute!
