This is such an interesting thread. We all have our phobias, don't we? i'm curious... what is the story behind those of you who are afraid of plants:

and biting your tounge?

Is there some past experience that caused that?
I am PETRIFIED of cave crickets - not just black crickets you find in your yard, but CAVE crickets - the ones that live in your basements or garages and look like hump-backed jumping spiders:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_cricket
I would rather be locked in a room full of... anything!... than face a cave cricket. We used to have them in our basement when I was a kid and my mom was the type who thought that if you faced your fears, you'd overcome them so she used to make me go down there at night to lock up. They would be ALL over the stairs and they would jump all over me and to this day I can't be in the same room with a cave cricket. Once when I went out late at night I found a cave cricket in my car and had to ask a perfect stranger to get it out of the car before I could drive home... it was awful!
The strangest thing is what I'm NOT afraid of. I have no fear of snakes or certain types of spiders (tarantulas or black widows, for instance) but I'm terrified of wood spiders and granddady long legs. I'm also afraid of rolly-polies.
