Has anybody experienced a solid white kitty with one blue eye and one green eye? What does this mean?

Was he deaf in both ears? How do you tell if a cat is deaf? Besides taking to vet.

Yes, both ears were deaf.If cat is deaf he/she wont response to sounds. For example if you call him/her by name when his/hers back is towards you the cat doesn´t react.Do you have this kind of a cat yourself?Does it come if you call it from other room etc.?

Yes, I guess you could say she is a rescue. I saw the teenagers throw her from a car window. I went to her and she was nothing but skin and bones!!!! Very sad. I knew I could not keep another animal as I already have 3 cats and 1 dog so my next door neighbor offered to feed her, I even gave her some cat food until she could get to store but, Angel, as we named her basically stays at my house. She hangs around with my other 2 outside kitties. She looks great now and is very sweet!!!! I sometimes wonder if she can hear me or not, I really don't think it is both ears cause she comes running when she hears food rattling or door open and close. I have never heard her meow and I just got her purring about a week ago. She doesn't like to be held very long and I really don't think she is a year old yet. Very petite kitty. I have let her in the house several times (of course when my hubby isn't home, hehe) I can't just NOT feed her!!!!

How can people be so cruel??!!
To throw a kitten out of car window!I am so glad that she found home.Is your neighbor taking her permanently?Hope so!Poor little thing...
Maybe just her other ear is deaf, or maybe neither!

The neighbors are not animal people. Father and one daughter are allergic to cats so she will never be let inside. We hardly ever see food out for her or water for that matter. It's just not an importance to them like it is to me. I am going to see if my animal shelter will help me out on getting her fixed so there will be no babies around. I know the only two males on our street are fixed and one is mine (also a rescue or should I say he adopted us, kinda like Angel but he just happened up with collar on). Im just too much a animal lover I guess. Only one of my kitties did I actually purchase from someone and she will be 12 years old October 3. The rest I have rescued one way or another including my Pekingese dog. They all have sad/wonderful stories behind them but too long to go into now.

Thanks for all your help and comments.

Oh, Im not taking her to shelter. I seriously don't think anybody would adopt her. She is not real pretty I guess you could say so I really feel she would be pts if I did.

From what you have said, I think Angel sounds like a beautiful cat.

Here is a link to a page that lists low-cost spay/neuter organizations by state. http://www.lovethatcat.com/spayneuter.html

There are some low-tech things you can try to see if Angel is deaf. Try clicking behind her, when she can't see you, and see if she either turns to look or if her ears rotate to find the sound. Try clicking or snapping on either side of her head to see if she uses one ear more than the other (like if she always looks over her right shoulder for the sound, even if you are more left). The trick is to make sure she doesn't see you. If she is deaf, even on one side, she will make up for it with a keen awareness of what she sees.

One thing to consider, if she is deaf, she really should be an inside only kitty. She wouldn't be able to hear dangers coming for her, whether a dog, predator or car.

Thanks for all the information. I looked at that webb site and the only two shelters that help in Alabama are like 3 hours away.

When I got home last night, I went outside to find all the kitties to let them in some cause it has been raining non stop since yesterday. Well, I yelled "Angel" and her she comes running so she can hear just not sure how much but she can hear. After she ate some, she tickled me by going up to my husband and jumping on HIS lap and laying down!!! (He is the one that is fussing about all the damn animals). She just layed there and cleaned herself for I know 15 minutes. During bad weather and really cold I try to let all of the them inside!!! They also have my laundry room that is right outside my back door which is under my covered patio that I leave cracked for them to get in if they want to.

What I know about deaf cats is this : a cat with two different eyes , one blue and one other colour is usually deaf , but only on the side of the blue eye !!! So your sweetie may be half-hearing !! Hope this is the fact !!
