We played Bett Midlers "Wind beneath my wings" at my first DHs. And I alway's thought for myself I wanted something to remind everyone how I felt, so I would like Whitney Houstons " I will alway's Love you"

Arms Of The Angel is wonderful I think. I would suggest GoodBye My Lover by James Blunt...

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

Beautiful song that brings me to tears every time...

There are a lot of country songs...Not really sure what type of music you are looking for.. but here are some

"One More Day" by Diamond Rio
"The Dance" by Garth Brooks
"Live like you were dying" by Tim Mcgraw
"When I get where I'm going"- Brad Paisley

I've never actually heard this one, but apparently it is very appropriate-

One More Day is a beautiful song too. And I love The Dance also, but I really really really like Garth Brooks.

We used Mercy Me's song "I can only Imagine" at my Dad's funeral.
"Go Rest High on that Moutain" is a good one too.
I have "One More Day" on Amber's Memorial page.

Title: Tears in Heaven
Artist: Eric Clapton

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day,
Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven.

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.

Song: Hear You Me
Artist: Jimmy Eat World

There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
And if you were with me tonight,
I'd sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so big,
god wouldn't let it live.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

what about "the Rose" by Bett Midler?

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razer
that leaves your soul to blead

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow
lies the seed
that with the sun's love
in the spring
becomes the rose

Did she like "Enya"? Enya has such a wonderful voice, most anything by her is very nice.

If I were you I would write a list of Amber's favourite musicians and then set out to find some songs from them.

I'm actually working on a memorial video of my stepdad who died back in October. I'm using "I Believe" by Diamond Rio and "If I Had Only Known" by Reba McIntire. Both beautiful songs IMO.

I'm not in here alot. Could you point me in the direction of the post that tells what happened? Maybe a link to the Memorial page?

I too was going to suggest Enya. That was playing at my MIL's viewing.
And is this music for the viewing and the funeral service??

The more I think about music, I'm really thinking about what music I'd like to have or hear...but John I believe you should choose something that would be special to Amber. Who were her favourite artists? That's where I'd start.

Oh yeah, Tears In Heaven is beautiful...I also like Let It Be...The Long & Winding Road and also In My Life by The Beatles...

Good Luck...

Up to my eyeballs in Thomas the Tank Engine undies
I really like this song. It's pretty and it fits Amber (I think.)

How Do You Talk To An Angel Lyrics

I hear a voice in my mind
I know her face by heart
heaven and earth are moving in my soul
I don't know where to start
tell me, tell me, the words to define
the way I feel about someone so fine
how do you talk to an angel
how do you hold her close to where you are
how do you talk to an angel
it's like trying to catch a falling star
at night i dream that she is there
and I can feel her in the air
tell me, tell me, the words to define
the way I feel about someone so fine
how do you talk to an angel
how do you hold her close to where you are
how do you talk to an angel
it's like trying to catch a falling star
how do you talk to an angel
how do you hold her close to where you are
how do you talk to an angel
it's like trying to catch a falling star
how do you talk to an angel
how do you hold her close to where you are
how do you talk to an angel
it's like trying to catch a falling star
yeah, yeah

Here... or There... Hmmm
On the thread that was linked to eariler in this post she herself said in the ending credits Reba McIntires - Youre Gonna Be.... I think that sounds very fitting.

As for what me and my siblings used for mom's... I was 19 at the time.. we each picked one. Mom really liked country music, my brother picked Garth Brooks "The Dance" My sister LeAnn Rymes "How Do I Live" and me Boyz II Men "A Song for Mama" They each said something about how we felt. Try one that says how you feel for her! We're thinking of ya'!
