Tonight i just found out some news that was not so good. I guess as of lately- when it rains it pours.
Colin's best friend, Gainey- him and his wife had their little boy recently. He was born premature (i'm not sure by how much). He was born without an esophogus and without an anus. He also has something else wrong with him too that i can't think of right now. Could ya'll please keep this sweet little boy in your prayers and his mom and dad. They need all of the prayers they can get right now.
/ The baby's name is Cohen. And he has alredy had several surgeries...but this young little guy has many more to go to try and help his medical problems. Colin and I are absoultely crushed that we cannot be with them all right now. His best friend and his family all live in Mobile, Alabama....and Colin and I are in Tennessee. The soonest we can get down there is March (we are planning on going there for 6 days.) So till then, we're keeping in touch with phone calls to check in on the baby and his parents. Colin talked to Gainey's parents tonight, Cohen's grandparents- they said that Gainey (The dad) is taking it incredably hard right now as is his wife. Also- his wife is a neonatal nurse....so to make matters even worse- she knows exactly what's going on with her baby...but really can't do anything about it- so she's feeling incredably helpless. Could ya'll please send some vibes and prayers out to this wonderful family. Little Cohen is hanging in there- and will hopefully make it through everything ok. He still has many more sugeries to go. Thankyou everyone

Of course. You know I'd almost want to be a nurse so I'd know. I think it's even scarier not knowing what exactly was going on. They will be in my thoughts.

Thankyou! I appreciate that. I will let them know that they have people from all over praying for them and little Cohen. It's just soo devistating. I wish Colin and I were closer so we could be there to just sit in the hospital and just be there to lend a shoulder to cry on or support....anything... for them. I feel soo bad for this sweet little one too- he's got soo many more surgeries left to go through
/ I'd explaine it if i knew what was going on and what they were going to do to him- but i honestly have no idea

Thankyou for the sweet comments and prayers everyone. I just talked to Colin a minute ago before he left for work (they switched him to the late night shift this week- uhhh! as if we weren't stressed enough
) Apparently i have the dates wrong- sorry- The baby was born a few weeks ago. (I had no idea- Gainey didn't call Colin till this week because they had soo much going on with the baby and all.) So sorry for the misinformation - turns out the baby is a few weeks old- so i guess that is a good thing- that is better since the older he is- the better his odds are surgery wise
So that's a good thing! Colin said he would call Gainey this week and keep checking on him and little Cohen for updates. So i'm really hoping that we have some good news to share with everyone soon. My heart goes out to this sweet little baby. I can't imagine being soo young and having to go through soo many surgeries. Poor little fella
/ Colin said right now they have some sort of tube in place of an esophogus for him until they can do all of his surgeries. Does anyone know anything about esophogial surgery in babies???

Thankyou everyone. The next time Colin talks to Gainey- i'll ask about the baby so i can update ya'll. I don't have their number or anything. So Colin will keep us posted. (it's his best friend). Does anyone know anything about neonatal surgery as far as the esophogus goes? i'm wondering what they're doing to the poor fella.

thanks natalie
/ it's all soo sad. i don't know gainey or his wife very well- i only know them through colin as it's colin's best friend since childhood and they live in alabama....but in the time that i have spent hanging around them- i do know that they are wonderful loving people....and well....i know that they are definitely looking foward to giving their son the best life possible. i just hope he pulls through ok. i have no idea how many surgeries he has left. He also has no anus- therefore no way to poop...so i think they have some sort of bag or something on him to help with that. i'm not sure really what they do for that situation
