Oh I'm glad to hear she came out of hiding! She'll come around quickly, Jenny. She looks like one smart cookie!

Excellent news!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you know - she's just scared in the new environment. But given that she came out and groomed herself, I'm sure it won't be long before she's one happy purring headbutter!

Gotta go see those pics everyone's talking about.

Well that's just great news all around!
Maybe she's not as feral as originally feared. Or maybe she has already figured you for the softie that you are.

Good catch!

This morning she meowed at me through the door when she heard me and didn't run and hide. She went round and round the room like a crazy thing when she had finished eating, and her path included jumping over my feet! And she is very vocal, answering me when I say her name or talk to her. So I am convinced that although she was living in the barn for at least a month, she was not originally feral. She must have been dumped - there are no houses in that direction for miles, only a small country road about a mile away. I am going to the vet tonight for another prescription for ringworm shampoo and pills, and I will talk to her about a spay.

It's happening already! Stray or feral - she knows she's got a good thing!

I took some great pix of her tonight, rolling over and looking at me, then came up to download them and discovered I had left the camera card in the card reader! And I can't find the USB cable to download from the camera's internal memory. So stupid. SO I will take some more tomorrow. The vet says she will spay at 5-6 months so I will take Biscotte in as soon as I feel she is OK with being picked up.

Yesterday and this morning I was able to pick her up - she came to me and I stroked her and then took her in my arms. She was nervous but didn't fight. I managed to open her mouth and look at her teeth, and her canines are just coming in. So she is only about 5 months old as I first thought. I was hoping to get her to the vet this week, but I have been too busy. She will go in the next few days. She never stops purring and kneading, she is obviously looking for love and reassurance.

She sounds like she acts when I finally got to touch my Tommie (RB). Its seems that they have been so many hours/days w/o the touch of a human but when it happens again they want to make up for lost time! Good luck with your continued re-acclimatization to humans!!
