No, Sho didn't do anything bad.

The poor thing has diarrhea again

He's very bad about not covering his poo then stepping in it and managed to get it all over his feet, tail, and butt. When I picked him up to rush him to the bathroom he got it all over my shirt

Long story short... Emergency bath
Oh well... at least he tolerates his baths patiently.

Ahhh, diarrhea is a lousy situation on so many levels
Have you tried pumpkin or some of the other remedies suggested in the Health and Nutrition forum?? Please keep us updated - all parents of both peoplekids and furkids can empathize with you

I still have some diarsanyl from his bout earlier this month, so I gave him a dose of that. If he's still having problems tomorrow I might go by the store and pick up a can of pumpkin.

His Soggyness is currently sitting in my lap rebathing himself

Poor boy! Here he was trying some new perfume for you & you went & gave him a bath so he smells rotten clean now! Pooey! You take away all the fun! :lol

I hope Sho's poo-poo problems clear up quickly! It's hard on their bodies & our noses...

Poor kitty- make sure he stayes well hydrated. With diarreah- he could easily get dehydrated if you don't keep fluids down him. Give him some Pedialyte (infant electrolite replacer) to hydrate him and help prevent him from getting diarreah. Also- dont' have him any soft food until his stomach settles- give him some baked chicken and plain white rice to help settle his tummy. Also- if this continutes- please have him checked out by a vet to rule out a medical problem
Till then - keep him hydrated by dropper feeding him some Pedialyte
(the walgreens brand is just as good as the name brand- also - get the clear if they have it- the color ones "flavored" might stain fur)

He's an odd cat, won't touch baked chicken or rice, or really any human foods... aside from the time he stole sauerkraut from my husband's plate

Pedialyte and pumpkin, Sho's not going to be very happy with me.
As for canned food, they already had their nightime meal

It just started earlier and I'm hoping with the diarsanyl that the stools will return to normal soon. If it doesn't clear up I'll try to figure out a way to get a stool sample...how does one get a stool sample when a cat has...er.. squirty diarrhea? Follow the cat to the box with a cup? Earlier this month the vet was able to get a small one at the office, but she didn't see anything in it.
If it keeps up she may just suggest a special food
I'd rather avoid corn since that tends to make him throw up, and he doesn't need to be on anything too high in carbs. The indoor weight contol formulas he was eating for a while made him rather fat. He's actually losing some on kitten food (more protein and fat, less carbs).

I just wish he'd bury his poo instead of backing into it, turning around to look at it while stepping in it again in the process.

When you take your kitty into the vet- the kitty has a tiny little plastic stick that they will put into the kitty's rectum to get a stool sample (it's virtually painless for the kitty and takes about two seconds to do).
/ As far as keeping the kitty hydrated- if you go to the pharmacy to get some pedialyte- be sure to get a little dropper too- and wrap the kitty in a blanket (swaddle it) and just have the head poking out- then hold the kitty to your body with an arm around it and with your hand- gently pry open the corners of his mouth with your pointer and thumb fingers and put the dropper in it's mouth with the fluid. Keep the dropper in there for a few seconds so the kitty can't spit the fluids back out on you .....and be sure to rub the kitty's throat while you do this so that it will swallow the pedialyte. Also- lightly blowing onto the kitty's face causes a natural blinking reflex to occur- and when they blink - they swallow- so you can try that too. Good luck
Keep us posted.
