We had a loss in the family yesterday. Samantha had been fighting for her life since last winter, and finally reached a point where dad had to do the right thing. She was a beautiful calico cat, who was loving and a character, and misunderstood by some of the family. She was found at our backdoor 13 years ago and has been a part of the family since. My dads best friend, Marlene (who passed over about 4 years ago) used to say that she reminded her of a mouse in a story that she read when she was a kid. The mouse carried a little pea in her mouth all the time, and Sam had a black spot on her mouth.
Dad and I are mourning our loss today, but she left purring and we are greatful for that.
Sammy, Samster, Sammers, Sam, Samantha, we will miss you. May there be many sunbeams and warm beds and very few annoying kittens in heaven miss Sam. We love you.
