Thank you all for the continued vibes and prayers, I think she's drawing strength from them!! When I woke up this morning and went to check on her, she was up on her feet smiling and tail wagging!
I put a harness on her and helped her walk outside and back in. She didn't use the bathroom, but she hasn't eaten or drank much since god knows when yesterday. I still haven't gotten her to eat anything which worries me, but I'm going to boil her some chicken in a bit and see if that might get her appetite warmed back up. She's taking her pills like a pro, and being a very very good girl. I'm very proud of her. The walk this morning really wore her out, she was panting so hard. Now shes napping again. When she wakes up later we'll try going outside again.

I think maybe she needed to pee this morning but she doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to maneuver it so that she can squat. I don't know what I can do to help her. I guess she'll figure it all out in due time. Keep praying for this girl, she has a long road ahead of her.

What a sweet doggy. Too bad some idot was being cruel. Is there a way you can get a fund going in the neighborhood going for her. That isa lot for you to pay for a community dog but everyone gave some the cost wouldn't be so high.

Lots of prayers for a sweet puppy!

and she's very beautiful. she is still in my thoughts and prayers.
Are you going to keep her?
She is very sweet. One of the sweetest tempered dogs I have ever met.

I would love to keep her, however I don't know if I will be able too. We live in a 1000 square foot home and already have two dogs plus Madden and the birds. She'll be here for quite a while though, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens as things progress.

Thank you for the prayers!! I thought about this, but honestly the people that live out there that know and love Miss Bea so well, probably don't have any money to give. And if they did it still wouldn't be enough to get me close to the half-way mark. I could afford the rest if I stretched it, but I just don't think it'll happen.
I still may check around this weekend though.

Poor girl, I can't believe that someone would do this to such a kind sweet hearted dog. Some people truely are sick.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Your such a kind person, you did a great thing by saving her

I can't believe just how cruel and heartless some people can be.
Why on earth would someone want to harm that sweet little soul?

There's a special place in hell for people like that

Bless you for helping her.

I'll keep sweet Bea in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope this finds Bea doing a little better, I also hope she ate some of that chicken that you were gonna fix her.

Still sending prayers and hugs from Mississippi for you and Miss Bea.

An update:

She ate and she finally peed!!!

It took a hotdog (real healthy, I know) to get her started but then she ate a whole two cups of CS dog food!!
I was so excited that she finally peed, I was jumping up and down in the yard!!

She's progressed a lot as the day has gone by. The swelling went down so much I had to remove the cast and reposition it because it was sliding down her leg!! No sign of infection, the wound looks as great as I could ask for, and she's learning to get around much better on her three good legs.

You guys are the absolute best. I told her she had people all around the world praying for her, and she wagged her tail. Thats her way of saying thanks!!

Please keep the prayers coming, they most definitely are working! The vet didn't expect the swelling to go down for at least a week, and its already gone!!

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart!!

If anyone is still reading this...

I forgot to ask earlier, but when I removed her cast/splint to move it back to where it was supposed to be I noticed that she was sweating a lot under it. I suppose this is normal, the one time I had to wear one, I know I sweated under it. The wound is all closed up nicely, but I wondered how this is going to relate to the chance of infection?? The wound didn't seem wet, but the inside of the cast did. Sorry about all the worrying, she's became my main priority the past couple of days. Thanks for any input, and for the prayers again!

What a beautiful dog! How dare someone shoot her - that is so disgusting!

I am glad that she is on the road to recovery - as well as her being your angel, you are her angel as well! Bless you!

I'm so happy to hear that she ate and peed.

I really don't know what to tell you about whether the sweating would cause an infection or not.
Like you I've had a cast and would sweat like crazy under it, but I didn't have a wound under mine.

Maybe someone else here will come along that's had experiance with it...if not maybe you could call the Vet..even if they aren't in if you leave a message that should call you back.

Just for the record, I don't think you're worrying to much...I'd be the very same way.

I am so glad to hear that Miss Bea is doing better, and I am glad that she finally pee'd too. I was hoping that she wood.

I would probably call the vet just to ask him about the sweating.

Tell Miss Bea that I am continuing to send prayers and hugs from Mississippi for you and for her.

She looks like such a sweet doggie. I hope she gets all better really fast.

They might keep in eye out at that trailer park. If she took the part of watchdog for the park, the person that shot her could have done it with an ulterior motive in mind.

Bea is still doing well today!!

She's getting up and eating all on her own, and amazingly enough, hasn't had a single accident inside the house. She has lived at the park since she was a puppy, and as far as I know, has never lived inside. She's housetrained herself though, and waits until I take her out to do her business. I'm amazed!

She still hasn't gone "number 2". I don't know how long to wait before I should be worried. We've still got one more trip outside to make tonight, so maybe she'll do her business then. I sure hope so.

There's a step into my back door thats about 5 inches high, and yesterday she wouldn't step up onto it by herself I had to lift her by her harness, but today she's going over it by herself with no hesitation!! Her progress is really amazing so far. She's learning how to maneuver that leg better and better each time she gets up to move around! I'm hoping this means good things for her future.

I think we've finally got the splint secured so that it won't slide down as quickly. We've had to adjust it several times since the swelling went down, but I think that dh finally figured out the trick to keeping it in place. We'll see after her late walk tonight.

Anyway, thats the news for today.

Pray for poops please!
