She looks very healthy, I'm sure she'll live a long time (and to stay on topic) especially if she's eating Chicken Soup!

The vets here are the same way. Try explaining to them what Solid Gold Katz-N-Flocken is!
They're like..."Ummm....can you spell that for me?"

I went to Pets Supplies Plus and the only Chicken Soup they had was kitten formula. I picked up a bag of that for Sassy and Boo-Boo and Lippy, (the last feral that lives outside. They said the adult formula is on back-order. Figures, huh?

I also got another bag of Max Cat since they still had some bags on sale for $19.99 and a bag of Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken Meal & Rice for $23.80 which didn't seem too bad a price for that.

Well, that should give my crew plenty of variety for the next month. I'll be mixing this in with what' I've already got. I know my doc would like me to be as selective with my food as I am my furkids.

Time and the next vet visit for Nugent will tell how it's all going to work out.

Till then, Y'all stay warm.

That sounds like me when I went to pick up baby Wilbur from the breeder. She started rattling off the three dry food brands she mixes together and said "...and then use Chicken Soup as well." Umm. Chicken soup, really!?!? I almost asked her if he was supposed to eat it warm or cold (LOL
), but she said it was a brand of cat food that she highly recommended that I use.

Wilbur and Milo eat a mix of that, Innova Adult and Nutro Naturals and are doing great. I'm so glad to read this thread and see that others' cats are doing well on Chicken Soup (esp. in light of the UTI issue). If I ever swap out any of the above mentioned dry foods, Chicken Soup is defiinitely staying!

My only problem with putting down Chicken Soup Kitten for all is that I have one overweight cat in the group and he would probably take to that like I do to donuts and we all know what happens then.

It looks like I am going to have to mix the CS kitten with the food upstairs if I want the kittens to eat it. I put it in the dish setting on the playpen where I've put food before and they won't go up there to eat it by itself and I feel Sassy really needs kitten food right now.

For so long all my cats were on level ground with their food needs and now I have three different levels of need.

The good thing is that Nugent does most of his eating in the basement so he shouldn't be loading up on a lot of kitten food to cause more weight gain.

My cats are kind of funny about their preferred dishes. Some like to have their food in the living room while others prefer the kitchen. Nugent and Precious usually wait for me to come fill the basement dishes. He will run up and down the stairs to get my attention that I need to come down and fill his dishes and spend time with him. (At least he gets some exercise!)

a while back my cat had uti and had the whole cathatar thing,(several times in a few days). very expensive and the vet said that it wasnt even curable . all i had to do was keep buying his expensive food. well, tigrito got sick again but i caught it early on. i noticed that while trying to pee in the litter pan, nothing came out. not wanting to pay another $800 bucks i did a little research(without that vets help). i bought some cranberryand vitamin c suppliments and put them in his canned food with a little bit of water. make sure he eats it all. the suppliment helps the ph balance. the wet food is manditory. he is not allowed to eat dry food at all becuase that is what caused it in the first place. i use pro plan urinary canned food they sell it a petco. it was recommended on their website by other consumers.

male neutered overweight cats are the ones most prone to uti. keep your cats active, and give them plenty of water, bottled water is better than tap. mixing it in food is a good way for you to sneak it into their diet.
cats also need to have wet food in their diet because that is how their digestive sytem works. it was made to digest raw meat.

oh, it's been about 2 weeks and tigrito is better than ever. peeing full stream, and extremly happy.
