to you and your family!! I am so sorry to hear that this is happening. If you want to ever talk, please feel free to PM me anytime!! I can honestly say I know what your going through, and reading what you described, sounds exactly like what I saw my dad go through.
I'm so sorry. I went through a similar situation when my grandmother passed a few years ago. The hospice people were, really, really wonderful and supportive, as well as sensitive. Make sure you get some rest and also don't forget to eat some real food, its easy to forget these sorts of things and then you'll end up sick and weak on top of all the other stress. I hope in the midst of the pain you can find some peace and try to focus on all the positive, wonderful things you and your mom have shared throughout the years.
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you spend your last hours/days with your Mom. May she have a peaceful passing, with as many of you around as possible. I wish you strength and peace, too.
I can't even imagine what it would be like to go through something like this. Just remember to cherish the time you have left with her. Will all be here for you when the time comes. Best wishes To you, your mom, and your family
I guess I forgot why I love this site so much.
You guys are the BEST!!
I posted last night and went to bed with 6 posts.
I checked tonight and its over 70!!
You all are so compassionate and it really DOES help to read these!
I am going to ask the Hospice nurse tomorrow if they can get us a more private room with her thanks to the info provided.
She is in a shared room with LaDonna, who has been wonderful to her and with us but the room is small and I have 5 sisters and 1 brother + all our extended families. We asked earlier for a room to make this easier for us to stay with her and so there aren't 8 people at a time in this little room trying to be there with her. We were told there is a waiting area for family but she would stay in her room and we could come and go. That is not acceptable so we all just stayed there and flowed into the hallway. It is at the end where the exit door is and the buzzer goes off as everyone goes in and outside.
She is still with us tonight.
Her kidneys are completely shut down, I think I already told that in my first post.
Her heart is still strong and keeping her alive. Still no nutrition and she is getting Roxicodone under the tongue. Only about every 4-5 hours. She is zonked out from it. I don't know if that is good or bad, but as long as she is resting comfortably. It's only a matter of time. I went today from about 1pm-9:30pm and my 2 grown children are up there now with her to relieve the other family members staying the night. Tomorrow is my night to stay overnight if she is still fighting to stay alive as she seems to be.
I want you all to know how much this touches me and I am doing ok at this point...........
I am so sorry to hear this hun. I wish you and your family the best, its never easy that is for sure. I am glad to hear she is resting comfortably, your family will be in my family's thoughts.
