yeah, I saw that too, it was very cute and one of my favorite "cat" sayings! don't talk to me about cat plates though, I, and this is NOT an exaggeration, have about 100 of them stored away in boxes
that was my object of obsession for a period of time in my early 20s

I think they just have a "superior" look on their faces, like they know they're gods

If this is the artist I'm thinking of, their cats always look like that. But to me, it's more folk-arty than sad.

I agree - I was about to say it is just the style they are painted in!
