Poor Smudge's eyes

I had Smudge on her back tonight, and was cleaning some gunk out of her eye and I noticed she had lines in her eye! Kind of like the pic below.



Just a bunch of little black lines that looked like cracked glass. Her eyes were really cloudy as well, and her eyes were dilated despite being right under the light.

I was tossing up getting her to the ophthalmologist early, but DH reminded me that the appointment is next week, she doesn't seem to be in pain, or losing her vision, and they probably couldn't get me in much sooner than a couple of days time, so I might as well just wait.

Poor little baby...

Aw, she's such a sweetie. Maybe you could give the doctor a call and tell him/her what you've just noticed? Prayers and good thoughts going out for Smudge!

Ah I feel so sorry for that baby it just looks sad even if they don't hurt, such a sweet baby girl, I hope she going to be ok

I'd call and see if they want to speed up her visit - cats are very good at hiding pain, and this is a condition she's had from birth.

Let your vets decide if it's urgent or not.

Of course it's ok! She has a condition called trichiasis - the eyelashes/fur are growing in the wrong direction and touching her eye. You can see her little face in my sig - that's about as much as she opens her eyes. When we pull the fur away from her eyes, you can still see bits of fur touching her eyeball. Her eyes have always looked cloudy, but this is the first time I've seen these weird lines.

Awww.... I hope she feels better soon. She is in my thoughts and prayers.

She's such a little beauty. I feel so bad for her that I can only imagine how you must feel. I'm with the others in sending prayers, vibes and anything else needed to get Smudge through all this. You are wonderful to take such good care of her.
