The leading cause of death to cats and dogs is pet overpopulation. There are not
enough homes available for the many pets taken to the shelters daily. Sometimes
these pets are humanely euthanized and sometimes not, depending on the
animal shelter. In any case, it is wrong for a person to let his or her cat breed
when there are no homes for the offspring. It is unfair for these pets, unfair to the
shelter workers who must say "Be a good boy and give me your paw as I must kill
you", or to the rescue group workers who are on constant overload trying to find
as many good homes as they can and who must constantly raise funds for veterinary
care and the maintenance of the animals in their care.
HOW WE HELP: Pets Ltd. provides low-cost (and in hardship cases free)
spay/neuter surgeries for qualified rescue groups and individuals they sponsor.
This service is provided Saturdays and/or Sundays. To date Pets Ltd. has
provided over 1,100 surgeries, diminishing the unwanted pet population
by many thousands.
