I like a variety of places. Where I live has the best of both worlds There are just as many mom and pop restaraunts around the corner as there are chains.

Where we use to live another 15 minutes away was a brewery. They had THE BEST food ever! Loaded with carbs, but still. I remember they had this "breaded chicken" but it was breaded with Capt'n Crunch. SO GOOD!!!

To be honest- I love them both. I adore getting all dressed up to go to a fancy dinner and all that goes along with that! We definitely don't do it often- but i love to go and get all dressed up when we do

And living in Memphis- there are countless little mom & pop type places - my favorite are the hole in the wall type bars- My absolute favorite is Silky O' Sullivans on Beale Street. Also- North End- it's AMAZING!!!!!! it's this little hole in the wall looking dive- and it is one of the most famous resturants in town- the milkshakes are to die for!!!!!!! (i'm lactose intolerant- they're definitely worth it!!!)

I prefer Mom and Pop ones also. I have 4 kids and to take them to a fancy place to eat? I'd rather not.

I like to g places where the food is good whether it be a fancy place or not.
I hope the places sell "adult beverages too".
There are some mom and pop pizza places and also some local owned brewpubs that we go to more than others!! Nothing wrong with a good Chines buffet once in a while too!!

We have 24hr roadside stalls and that's where we'd hang out!!! But between a mom/pop place or a nice restaurant...doesn't really matter as long as the food is good and the service is excellent!

I like the Mom and Pop type the best!
I do not like to dress up and we seldom go out anyway.
When we do I like to feel comfortable.

I really like a nice quiet spot with really good food. DH and I frequent Joseph Beth's Bistro in Legacy Village. It's a smallish place that not a whole lot of people know about. The menu is slightly limited, but it sure beats the other restaurants in the area. They can get expensive.

I enjoy when a restaurant is a little of both! You can dress up as much as you like or dress down. The atmosphere is conducive for both styles.

To me those places are Olive Garden, Outback, O'Charlies, Carrabba's to name a few of my favorites.

I like both! There are days when I want to go out dressed to the nines and have fancy-pants gourmet vegan food at some trendy little spot and there are some days when I just want the veggie chili at the diner down the street, with a waffle of course

Or, there was last weekend when I just HAD to eat at Calo, which is a little Italian place (Kelly/clixpix probably goes there...it's not too far from where she lives...she and Ian are neighbors!) and it's like exactly the midpoint between fancy and ma/pa! I like that, too

I love "mom and pop" style restaraunts for everyday dining. But I do enjoy a fancier place for special occassions.

I don't care what "type" of restaurant it is - what I care about is great service and better food.

I find that the "chain" style retaurants are less likely to measure up to my levels of expectation - and I'm a former waitress, so I expect to receive the type of service that I would have provided!

However, as far as "comfort" goes, I'd rather go to a place that I can wear my jeans in than a place that requires fancy dress. I'm not a pretentious person, and I won't patronize any business that discriminates against motorcyclists - if I ride up to your restaurant in my leathers, and you won't seat me, then believe me, word will get around, and your business will suffer as a result.

(I'm so mean.
