I have two kittens who everyonce in awhile have problems with soft stools. They are both long-haired, so it can get a bit disgusting when there is feces on the floor and all in their fur.

My youngest kitten, who is about 4 months old, just went to the bathroom and somehow managed to get a bit on the floor, and get some stuck to herself. It had no shape, and was basically mush.

Both cats are on Nutro Kitten and are fed twice a day, typically in the morning at 7:00, and again at night before we go to bed which is usually around 10:00. They always have water available.

Any ideas? It's only happened 2-3 times with each cat, but I'm getting fed up with the cleaning! I've never had problems like this before with my previous cats.

is Nutro Kitten a wet food or dry food? sounds like its the food. if its dry, do you moisten it? if this doesn't clear up, you may think about a switch in foods. There are a lot of reasons for cats to have loose bowels but we can do some of the process of elimination our selves for example, starting with a food change.

They've been on Nutro for a couple weeks now. This has happened before when they were on Science Diet...

The food is dry, by the way.

Humm .. they are long hairs sometime s you have to clip around the rump.. wet food is easier to digest than dry and often gives better results
