Mine are scared crapless of air fresheners. I think it's the hissing sound... They think it's some "Hissing Stinky Monster" coming for them

I keep a can of it near the front door and spray it when they try to run outside

Oh yes, forgot to add- Kolar is also scared of Colin's electric razor
He jumped up on the sink counter one day when colin was shaving...and well it freaked him out. (i also think it has something to do with colin threatening to shave him and make him a naked cat if he licked his toothbrush one more time-the cat likes toothbrushes
)

Ophelia's oddest fear is of low-edged litterboxes!

Dory's afraid of the back of my closet doors(which are mirrors). He'll go in the closet & then bawl for meowmy to come get him out!

Damita's afraid of certain pom-pom cat toys.

Twitch is afraid of nothing, everything should be afraid of her, though!

Lily is afraid of strangers & my 15 year old sister...although I don't blame her for not liking my lil sis, she's not nice to Lily.

Small children in strollers. Don't laugh. Seriously.

When we were travelling over the holidays it was one of the only things that would get her worked up and make her hiss. She loved being able to watch the people in the airport from inside her carrier. She would sit there quietly and just watch and watch and watch. Until a stroller with a small child inside would come along. She would retreat to the back of her carrier and hiss every time. Weird huh?

I'm sorry, I had to laugh! All of these were hilarious, but that one, that made me laugh out loud!

These are too funny!! It makes me feel better about my crews weird fears

Reilly is afraid of alot of things, but none of them are too weird. The vacuum, the hairdryer (anything that's noisy)

Sydney is my little weird one though. She is terrified of tin foil. I can't for the life of me figure it out but the moment I pull it out of the drawer she runs.

Willow is terrified of many things, but the weirdest is just any random dried washcloth on the floor. She'll do the head bob thing, slowwwwwly reach her paw towards it, her nail will snag it, and when she tries to pull her paw away and the washcloth follows it, she freaks out majorly and flies 4 feet up in the air and then takes off in the opposite direction (washcloth has usually disconnected from her, lol). Willow's fears are usually just things that are on the floor that didn't use to be (like a washcloth). Leave a washcloth or towel on the floor for a week, she won't bat an eye after a while, but put another one down next to it, she gets a heart attack, lol. Lately I'm wondering if she has eye problems, since she acts the most spooked when the house is darker, but never ever acts spooked (almost always acts rather perky, actually) when in a well-lighted room or playing outside. Hmm.

Another weirdie, Molly is a bit afraid of humans coming straight at her. She trusts me the most, but she'll still run away if I walk towards her. I have to walk in an arc around her, with my back or side facing her. Who knows why, but I suspect she didn't live with greatest of owners before we found her on the street as a 5 month old.

The only thing Mistoflees is scared of is people. Poor guy. We had the windows replaced a couple of months ago. I had 4 guys from Home Depot in my house tearing out old windows, and he was in. I couldn't find him, looked in dh and my room, and I heard this pitiful "meow" from under the bed. He refused to come out b/c there were strange people making very loud noises in his house.

Sneaky is just wierd.
We call her "hyperkitty". She had "issues" with the black faced dishwasher when we first put it in. She'd sit there and growl at the "other" cat in the dishwasher.

She doesn't like the vaccuum. She doesn't like the coffee grinder (runs when we put it on). Youngest dd brought home this ANNOYING whistle last night, and it scared Sneaky.

Unfamiliar jackets. If I buy a new jacket or someone comes over and hangs a jacket over the back of a chair, so is very cautious. She slowly creeps up to it and sniffs a sleeve. If she happens to bump the jacket enough to make it move, she runs away in terror as if it will come to life and chase her. She's fine with new sweaters, shoes, jeans and lots of other things though.

Karma is afraid of bubbles, my excersize ball, shoes, and of cource the vacuum.

I think she is more jelous of the ball than anything. She runs from it but at the same time will push her blue ball next to it(its blue) and sit a look back and forth. Its like she is asking herself why her ball is not as big as moms.

Sho is afraid of anything smallish and dark that's where it shouldn't be, small dark fuzzies on the floor, bits of cloth or string. He goes into super cautious mode to approach it and will jump up in the air if it moves or he hears a noise. He's also acted afraid of the remote more than once. He doesn't like beetles (see small and dark).
Plastic bags and occasionally my shoes if they've been left out. He's also spooked over me clicking the switch on a dimmer lamp. Everytime it would click he'd jerk backwards and look for whatever made the noise, he figured out I was doing it after I laughed at him.

Tomas is afraid of a small little bumble ball toy that has a pull string to make it vibrate and buzz. I've noticed a lot of cat toys like this, I guess he'd hate those too.

I have to ask!!! Can you share this story? And does he distinguish between pepperoni bags and bags containing different meat products? It sounds just hilarious....

I think that is the sweetest, funniest thing ever. You should try to explain to her that you get the bigger ball because you're like 10 times bigger than she is! Plus, you have to do all the "mom stuff" and pay the bills, so you get whatever ball you want.
