Thank you so much everyone!

Yes, it was yesterday (Sunday) and Max's Dad took me, Max and six of my girlfriends over to Rottnest for the day on his new boat. Rottnest Island is a little resort island about 22km off the coast of Perth, and a regular haunt for Western Australians. It's remained relatively untouched and undeveloped for the last hundred years or so, and so it's just pristine and gorgeous.

Max's dad has bought a 50-foot ex-fishing charter boat, and so we had lots of room and spent the 45 minutes or so to Rotto bouncing around on the waves and screeching like little kids. We then pulled into Parker Point which is on the east side of the island, and felt as though we were in the Caribbean - crystal clear aquamarine water, lots of stingrays and reef to snorkel on - magic. Then we did a bit of fishing further out to sea, went around to the main settlement for a bbq, and then headed home thoroughly worn out, sunburnt and satisfied about 4.30 (shrieking again the whole way!).

Perfect! Such a lovely way to spend a birthday, with your best friends, drinking wine on a boat in a secluded bay, stepping off the side for a swim whenever we wanted in the beautiful sea... ahhhhh. But back to reality today - 35 patients in nine hours and I have a face like a beetroot!

Will post some pics as soon as I get them sorted.

Thanks again everyone!
