I'm not sure where to post this...feel free to put it where it needs to be.

We have seven cats total. I need to place one as he is terrorizing my 12 year old kitty something horrible. We adopted him from the shelter about a year and a half ago and slowly introduced him to everyone with no problems other than the usual hissingwith new intros. Over the past six or seven months, he has taken to stalking a couple of my other cats and terrorizing them pretty badly. Halle (my 12 year old), has lost weight and had started peeing everywhere because he stalks her in the litter room and the basement( she won't go there anymore) where the boxes are. We have added other boxes, and have been putting him in the bathroom when we are not home or in bed, but when we let him out, he's right back at it with her (it's to the point that he is constantly in there and we're not able to even let him out.) He's been to the vet and so has she, and we've even tried the behavior altering drugs as a last resort so we could keep him, but he keeps getting worse with her. The other kitty he terrorizes also started peeing everywhere. It's killing me to do this as I have never had to do anything like this before, but it's for the best. We've also tried to put the other kitties in the bathroom when he is out, but all he does is try to get back in the bathroom with them, and it just isn't working.

Other than that, he's a wonderful kitty, no bad litterbox habits or anything. He's neutered and about 4 years old. This is not what I want to do, but rehoming him is the best thing for all involved. If anyone is interested, email me for details or pics. [email protected] I'm located in Ohio.

Welcome to TCS!

I'm bumping this for you...and my suggestion is Bach's rescue remedy or a combination of flower essences to combat the aggressiveness! I think the mods will move this to the behaviour section. Meanwhile, do check check the behaviour section...there may be something there that may help!

Try calling the number on this page, for a free behavioral consultation. I would seek the professional help of a BEHAVIORIST (not a vet, they usually know very little about behavior) before moving to rehome the cat.

http://www.treehouseanimals.org/Tree...e-Behavior.htm

You can call or email, but calling is faster. You will likely need to speak to a woman named Joan Levergood, who is the head of the behavior department.

I understand your frustration. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble.

How long did you use the 'behavior altering drugs'? A lot of those take 6 weeks or so to start working.
