All The Colours Of The Rainbow...

I wish I knew how to do stuff like that, I am computer stupid

It would really depend on what colours you are using, there are several different 'skins' to use on TCS and I imagine (and know) that some colours do not show well on all of them.

So I prefer to leave all of mine as default (that and i am too lazy to change it all the time for the amount I post) so I know they show well on every skin

The blue one that you used on this post is hard to read, since I use Night Vision forum skin, and its a dark purple/blue- so anything dark like that makes it often hard to read.

It depends on what skin people use really.

I just leave mine on default that way everyone can read it without problems

I was going to say it would probably cause the most problems for nightvision

I also have night vision and when i came to this post i just held down cursor like i was going to copy and paste, turning your text white ona dark blue background. with that said i still like it tho i like the whole being different, showing yourself aspect of life tho !

Well I WAS going to say I don't have any probs But since I saw this,Yeah it could cause issues IF anybody is using nightvision,but I think if anybody is using nightvision they must have good eyesight anyway

I think coloured fonts do better in bold if you know what I mean,It's easier for people.
Especially if they have probs reading letters.

If this was one of those boards with about 20 people who control the heck out of each other, you'd probably hear some griping.
But it is *not* one of those boards.

One thing missing from the fun stuff on this board is the html marquee, either missing or I don't know how to do it here. That's fun sometimes.

I dunno if it's cause of the migraine yesterday or what but the blues do hurt my eyes. I had to lower the contrast and brightness to read your posts today.

Nightvision is generally better for people with bad eyesight as the white letters stand out really well against the purple/blue.

You could always change the font and not the colours and still express yourself but make it easy for everyone to read ?

Really?I never knew,I would have thought it would be harder with blue writing,
Do you mean if it were written in black that it would show in white on nightvision?

Normally, the text shows in white against the dark background, like where is says 'all the colours of the rainbow' on the image.

My sister has a strange eye problem and her specialist recommends using light on dark to help reduce strain on the eye. I guess it takes some getting used to as well though because nightvision hurts my eyes.

But yes, using the blue on nightvision would require some very good eyesight

Any other background really hurts my eyes- night vision is the only one that I can really use- so when people use dark colors as their font, its really hard to read, and no fun

some of the paler colours are pretty hard on the eyes on the lighter ones too!

In designing websites one is always told to think of those with vision problems and also that people read online differently to the way they do the printed page - it is more usual to 'scan' down the centre. SO most of the time it is better to use high contrast fonts and backgrounds and to avoid fonts that resemble handwriting. Ariel and Times New Roman are good and Verdana is approved by the Blind organisations. But I agree it is hard when you want to express yourself!

I have no problem with fonts but I find various colours like this one extremely annoying...
I'm not one to complain though, usually is something is difficult to read I either highlight it or just ignore that persons posts

Nope I don't have a problem with it. Bolder font is easier to read though. It is nice to see other colors being used. I guess I am just too lazy to most of the time unless its on the birthday posts.

The only colors that are hard to read to me are the ones that are really light. Deeper colors are much easier to read in my skin of Green Eyes!
