We have a front loader, so we use Tide HE. It is expensive, and I'm allergic to laundry detergent, but I've found that you don't really need to use as much as the package says. I use about 1/4 of the way to the 1 line. It works just fine, and since I'm using a lot less it doesn't bother my allergies. I buy the big one with the spout and it lasts ages.

For fabric softener, I use dryer sheets and only in winter because clothes get staticy in the dryer. The rest of the time, I don't really feel like I need fabric softener.

Tide liquid, Clorox 2 and bounce sheets.
Liquid because I use nothing but cold water, clorox well, that explains itself.

Dryer sheets are a must because our whole house is full of static, especially this time of year.

I'm hooked on the smell of the Clorox 2 though

I used Tide HE for the longest time because that was all I could find in the HE detergents. But it made me itch. I now can find All HE which works well for me. I'm definitely glad to see a larger selection of HE. Just wish it was a little cheaper.

I use a local unscented detergent (daughter is sensitive) and don't believe in fabric softener. It's not needed since we don't have any synthetic fabrics.

I used Gain once and it broke me out in hives! It was also right before I had to fire someone (first time) so maybe it was the combination that did it. Gain's been on my blacklist since then, though.

Cheers, from

We use ARm & Hammers 'free' laundry detergent bc of sensitive skin. We also use Downy's free dryer sheets. Some scented ones give me awful headaches.

Tide and Bounce. I boycotted Proctor and Gamble for a while but realized it was useless and went back to the stuff I grew up with and thought was good.

I use just plain regular Tide with bleach for all of my laundry. I tried the Ultra Tide but it was too harsh and I was getting massive hives and spent my days raking at my skin with anything and everything sharp that I could get my hands on.

As for fabric soften I use Downey and that ball that they have. Sometimes if I forget then I'll toss in 1/2 a sheet of Bounce into the dryer.

I use Method triple condensed
It's eco-friendly, was never tested on animals and uses less packaging. I don't use fabric softener: virtually everything I own is cotton, or some other natural fiber. I also wash everything on cold to save energy and don't notice a difference.

My entire family is allergic to Tide and I was brought up on All Free Clear which was supposed to be good for the allergie sufferers in the family.

Amway SA8 and I think I'm the only one that uses Amway products here!!! I love 'em! Woolite for silks and other fragile materials.

Mostly Purex, but I use Arm & Hammer every once in awhile too. I rarely use fabric softener, but I do have a bottle of Xtra, I think, fabric softener, in case I want to put in with my towels. No dryer sheets although I probably should. kinda staticky lately. I also am very allergic to Tide, that's weird that so many are allergic to it

I use what I can find on sale but its limited to a few brands. Right now I am using Purex ( i love it & its cheap) but will also buy Tide, All Free & Clear, or Arm & Hammer.

For softener i use Downy liquid. Used to use Bounce sheets but once my firefighter parents told me that it causes a film to attach to the lint filter on the dryer and cause fires, that stopped really fast. I wont skimp on my Downy. I switch between flavors on the Downy. Just depends on what kind of mood I'm in when i buy it

I cant think of the exact name of it at the moment ( I have to go buy some laundry detergent stuff) But I believe that it is called "Sun" or the word "Sun" is in the name but it is the only kind of detergent around here that I can find that specifically states that it doesnt test on animals.
