Just wondering about how long cats live...

Hi,

just wondering how old you cat(s) have gotten??

i am cat sitting a 15 year old cat and she does not seem old to me at all...

she sleeps a bit more than my 4 yr old, but otherwise doesn't seem any different.

remarkable animals, aren't they?!

My oldest Cat is 9, but i've read that cats can live into their 20's!

The oldest cat on the world lived 37 years!My oldest cat lived 16 years.She was my friend almost all of my childhood.I miss her!

Good grief!! 37 years old? I wonder what conditions that cat lived in. Cat Fancy did a picture poll a few years back where people sent in pics of their older cats. I save all the old issues, but can't find that particular one. There were lots of twenty-somethings that looked just great. One of my former bosses had a 22 year old. The family was really broken up when she passed away. My brother's cat is 18-going-on-19 and has a few medical problems, but keeps plugging right along.

I read that information from some british cat book.I don`t remember books name!That cat was owned by some british lady.That must have been a very happy cat!I can`t imagine how I would feel if I loose my Jesperi...But he is only 4 years now.Propably indoor cats live longer than outdoor ones?I think breeded cats like persians has more illnesses than others,I don´t know.

The cat I grew up with, Loppy, lived to be 22 years old. My parents took in an abandoned cat when I was in college. The vets thought Wanda was at least 10 when they got her, so when she passed she was at least 20 years old.
