I agree Nikki. Better safe than sorry! I know you kinda anted to be pregnant, but just think how much more prepared you will be when you are really ready to have a family!

and my two cents worth.... I have been on the pill for a long long long long time over 10 years to be exact, and I have never been a good pill taker, i don't think I've ever taken it at the same time from day to day and I'm on low-dose due to my high-blood pressure. But I've been doing the bunny hop a whole lot during these last 10 years and I've never gotten pregnant, knock on wood!!! I've had a few scares, I for some reason skip my period once a year but I really doubt you are, plus I wouldn't think you feel that crappy if you were, at least this early. Also morining is the best time to take a test, after those hormones have had time to build up in your bladder so if you're negative in the morning, you probably are negative for sure. but if those cramps don't improve I'd go to the ER just to be sure its not your appendix or the endoptic preg.

I'd call your doctor's office the morning and explain your symptoms, and see if they want you to come in earlier. I had an ectopic pregnancy - diagnosed at 9:00 one morning, and having surgery at 5:00 that evening... the doctor said I had several hours before it ruptured (which means hemorrhaging and removal of the uterus). BUT, I was five weeks pregnant already. (It was believed to be caused by endometriosis.) My paternal grandmother died of this when my dad was ten.

Didn't you visit your niece? Wasn't she throwing up? Maybe you caught that. Hope you are better soon!

Sorry you're not PG but please go to the doctor incase this is something serious.

I will definitely be calling the doctor in the morning and ask her about the possibility of an etopic pregnancy just to be safe and see if i need to come in. Thanks for all the wonderful support and advice everyone! Ya'll are soo great!

these were the symptoms listed in combination with an etopic pregnancy. i don't think i've had one- i don't have most of them :

Light vaginal bleeding
Nausea and vomiting
Lower abdominal pain
Sharp abdominal cramps
Pain on one side of the body
Dizziness or weakness
Pain in the shoulder, neck or rectum

the only symptoms i have are nausea and vomiting- which could be from the virus. and cramping- but my cramping is in the upper part of my stomach if that makes sense, not my lower /middle abdomen....which makes me think it's just one of my gastro issues- but i'm calling the doctor in the morning just to be sure. thanks again for the link!!!!! i think it's just this virus i'm hoping that's all it is.

I am glad you will be going to get checked out, I am sorry you had a neg. test, it is really for the best, it's not the right time, you will know when it is, and you will have a poss. one then. Get setteled into colins house (if you decided to move there, I was reading your post about the murders near yours and your moms place, but don't get to the lounge much and haven't seen if you decided to move in or not) It will happen when the time is right I hope you are just expiriencing a viral thing and you will be feeling good again once it runs it's coarse.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that an ectopic pregnancy would still show up on a pregnancy test because HCG is still produced. I would repeat your test in a week or so just to be sure, Starry... but if you're going to the doctor anyway, they can tell for sure with a blood test.

Hopefully it's just that nasty virus, and nothing serious! Good luck!

thankyou. i am calling her tomorrow to see if i need to come in or not. my cramps are seeming to (FINALLY) get better right now so i'm hoping i'm over whatever it is soon. Seems like it's just the virus. You're right about getting settled in and everything first But eithor way it would have worked out. Now though i can concentrate on moving and whatever else needs to get done first i suppose.

So far, what i've read says an ectopic pregnancy would show up on mosts tests (but then again, some don't). i'm calling the doc in the morning to see if i need to take another test or just come in and see her or if she thinks its just the virus going around. i'm starting to think it's just that nasty virus.

Aw, I'm sorry you're possibly not pregnant yet still sick! Just keep us updated so we know you're ok! For now, let your fur babies help you feel better with purrs and kitty kisses! Either way, just like everyone else said, everything happens for a reason - if you're not meant to be a human mama right now, you will be some day and if this is something more serious, at least you're catching it and can get it taken care of.... good luck with everything, hun!

Everything in due time, Nikki! When it's meant to be, it will happen. Heck, sometimes it does happen when it wasn't supposed to, but you'll sure be thrilled when it does!

Did you take another test this morning? I'm glad your feeling better. Stomach cramps are the worst.

Just a little update- the cramping is a whole lot worse this morining, so i called the doctor as soon as i woke up and they're trying to get me in today. They want to rule out an ectopic pregnancy I'm really freaked out. I'm praying it's JUST the virus. I didn't take another test this morning- i'm waiting to see what the doctor says. So once again i'm not going into work today-my paycheck next week is going to be miserable / Well, keep your fingers crossed...i'm hoping it's just the virus and not an ectopic pregnancy- cuz that means i would loose the baby. I'm waiting for the doctors office to call me back and see if i can get in today just to be on the safe side. Thankyou for the kind words and vibes everyone Ya'll are the best.

I do have a bit of good news though! My very good friends Katie and Aaron had their baby yesterday!!! Healthy, happy boy named Aiden! So that made my day!!

As soon as i hear back from them i'll let ya'll know. They're supposed to try and get me in today. I'm really praying it's just a virus. If it's ectopic though- i'll absolutely be devistated. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed and really hoping it's just a bad stomach bug.

Well they can't get me in today just my luck. The nurse just called to check on me. I told her my symptoms etc and that i couldn't tell if it was ectopic or the flu. She asked if i had taken a test- and i told her yes and that it came back negative. She said if it was ectopic- it would have still showed up positive so that i was most likely not pregnant. I told her about the cramping/vomiting and that i wasn't sure if it was just a virus. She thinks it's just the virus, but she's asking my doctor if i need to come in for an emeregency ultrasound or not just to be safe. They're planning on getting me in on Monday. She's supposed to call me back and let me know what the doctor says.
