The poor lady bugs. I hope they're hibernating or migrating, whatever they do.

I never knew you could have a ladybug house!
That is so cool - do many go in there? I remember at my mother in laws house, the door would be completely covered with ladybugs during autumn, I don't know why.

I'm not sure yet, this will be the first year I actually put it out in the garden. It was a gift from Naomi for my birthday a few years ago, but I had no idea what it was
Luckily, there was a little note with it explaining how the lady bugs will rest/roost on those slats of wood. Very cool I think. However, I put it under my bed, since it was almost winter, and never took it out again. Well, we shall see this coming spring if lady bugs will indeed rest on its slats.

That is so cool! I love ladybugs, and they are good for the garden. You shoud be able to buy a bag of lady bugs from a nursery to release near the house in the spring.

Over the river and through the woods...
My entire house is a lady bug house! This area of the country for some reason has an over abundance of ladybugs and they are everywhere on our screened in porch. When it gets cold, I think they are dead but as soon as it warms up (we have had weird weather here...30's one day, 60's the next) they are moving and are fine. They just fascinate me!

Here too, they seem to congregate during a certain time of the summer. They are everywhere. But not the nice red ones..the stinking orange ones.
