I'd hope so, but I don't think my new job would let me take a vacation so soon!

2008 is a LONG way away. Think positively.
I think that's one reason that everybody was leaning toward Vegas too because it is affordable for almost everyone. Food is cheap. Flights are cheap. Hotels CAN be cheap. Hotel wise in Vegas you just have to remember that you aren't going to spend a lot of time in your room so why pay an obscene amount for a room (like at MGM, Wynn, Bellagio...).

And the right job for you will be along soon Kenz.

Mmmmmm...the buffet at the Orleans....blackjack at Binions...I can rent a big Harley softtail and go riding in Red Rock canyon - anyone wanna ride on the back?

Rooms at Circus Circus are less than $50 a night and you can get REALLY good package deals!

I have friends that always stay at the Imperial Palace, but its a little too shady for me. It is one of the cheapest places to stay that's still on the Strip.

Nicer cheap places to stay are Excalibur, Luxor, and Bally's. Flamingo isn't badly priced either and looks "fairly good" but I've never stayed there. Circus Circus was looking more than a little run down the last time I was there. Anybody been recently and have recommendations?

I put September 5-7m, which would probably be the best weekend for my schedule. At this point I could probably arrange for any weekend except September 27-28. (That's our organization's annual meeting...which I help coordinate, so I kinda need to be there.

i would personally prefer a summer weekend, as it's difficult for me to take off during the school year.
but i'm only one person - if everyone else prefers fall, i'll try to make it. most Vegas flights from DFW are either sun-thurs or thurs-sun, so it would require me taking 2 days off from work in order to take one
anyone else prefer summer? i'm not picky about which weekend in summer, just one in somewhere between mid-june & mid-august...

Summer in Vegas?

I have been there in May when it was 120 degrees in the shade...um, I'll stick with my preference for Columbus Day.

When I went last yr we stayed at New York, New York and had a package deal w/airfare and room that wasn't to bad (I went with a bunch of tightwads!!)
If there are a fair amount of people one centrally located place could be chosen and perhaps get a group discount??

Maybe all TCS international members should have our own agenda, considering we would be there on vacation, we will have more time to party!

School doesn't... but work does. And actually, depending on how heavy my classes are any 3 day weekend would work cuz I usually enroll in Tues./Thur. classes and there's NEVER class on Fridays.

Our anniversary is Oct. 15th.

My only other suggestion would be Labor day weekend, which is the last weekend in August.
Wow... Labor Day is on Sep. 1st huh? That would work for me too since I don't have work or school on Labor day and it's the begining of the semester for me so I wouldn't have to worry about falling behind in class because I was in Vegas over the weekend instead of doing homework!

I'm like you, I'm a full time student and a full time employee and it's much easier for me to take a summer semester off to do something like this than it is to leave durring a spring/fall semester.

Aww... I'd love to go back to Australia... this would be a great reason to do it.
