Due to recent health concerns on my part, I have been forced to make the very sad decision to discontinue breeding. Lexus and Pearl were both taken in this morning to be spayed and once Tonka fulfills a prior service obligation, he too will go in for his neutering appointment. *sigh*

I am saddened by this, but it is for the best. Maybe someday, I can get back into it, but now is just not that time.

Oh dear, Gaye...really?
I'm sorry you were forced to make such a decision in the first place, but your health must take precedence. If you need a shoulder, mine is always available.

I sincerely hope that you feel better soon!

Oh Gaye, I am so sorry
I know this was a very tough decision for you to make, but like you said, maybe in the future you can pick it up again. Right now, you need to focus on getting YOU better and I commend you for making that decision.

Thanks, y'all. I have been crying for two days about it. I know that sounds silly, but this truly was a really long-time dream for me. I have such a deep love for the Old-Style Siamese and truly wanted to do something to further awareness about their plight. I have had three healthy, gorgeous litters out of Tonk and Lex and the people who have those babies couldn't be happier with their choices. I know I will always have this to look back upon and be proud of that accomplishment.

It really was a good time for Lex to retire. The poor little girl has been through 4 estrus cycles back-to-back since right after Thanksgiving and she is so thin at the moment. She doesn't eat, she doesn't sleep, she just paces in a figure-8 between the kitchen and the living room and she has lost so much weight. So, I know this is the best thing for her too.

I know it's a hard decision, but your health affects the kitties health and well being.

Oh Gayef, I'm sorry to hear about your health and having to give up breeding at this time. Wanted to let you know that you've made a bigger impact then just the litters. You've been and I sure will continue to be a voice of wisdom when it comes to our mutual passion of Traditional Siamese.

Speaking personally, you took the time to speak with me one on one. And what you shared, taught, corrected, etc., I'm forever grateful.

Your health (and kitty's) come first. I'm sad you had to make this decision, but your experience and contribution to the cat fancy, on this site and elsewhere, its much appreciated.

I love the look of your cats - I have always been a fan of the traditonal look, though never owned one. I am sorry you have give up the breeding programme, but you have brought joy into so many hearts in what you have done. Good luck with the health - that always comes first, and then try and relax and enjoy your kitties.

Oh, NO! Gaye I am so sorry to hear you have to take a leave from your dream! I do hope this will only be temp and you are able to pick up where you left off from shortly. I am so sad you were even faced with having to make the decision. I wish there were some thing I could say or do to make things better. The old style siamese has lost some one very special, and I hope it's not for long. I don't think I could be more upset that you have made this decision then if it was me that had made it, I truely am at a loss for words.
I hope you can find an outlet for your love of these wonderful cats, like solaritybangles, after she made the decision to stop breeding after meeka lost her kittens, she went another way with her love and awareness of the breed by doing a project, mabey you can still find a way to spread your knowledge and share their awareness with others, in a way that isn't as time consuming as breeding. It will help ease your mind of not being able to breed, and still get your very important message and knowledge out there.
Take care of your self, the sooner you do the sooner you may be able to get back to breeding. I will be looking forward to hearing you are feeling well, and getting a new girl to start your passion back up with!

I'm sooo sorry. But your health condition comes first. Besides, whatever it is, if you keep the goal of a future day of being able to get back into the swing of things, it will give you good incentative

You have obviously thought this through very hard and very long, and you are right you must look after yourself. I am a great believer in the saying "as one door closes, another opens"
Take time for you and your kits
We are all behind you 100 mega %

Peace
