I Have three cats all three diffrent ages and all three from diffrent homes but they all can tell that I am going to have a seizure. No Mater where they are in they house they will come and sit near me or lay next to me, until the seizure is over and I have come out of it. The oldest cat we have is a long haired black one named shadow and she will actually go get my wife if she is in the house.
I know I have heard of Dogs doing this but we have three cats and they are very wounderful cats. I do not know what I would do without them. After every seizure I awake to them laying near me and they look at me and wait for me to come out of the confusion part. Then they go back to thier own fighting just like our four kids would. They will always be apart of our family.

Welcome to TCS!

I have heard of cats doing this and it doesn't surprise me at all, they really are very aware and sense when something is up. Plenty of people here also have stories about their cats looking out for them when they are sick or being gentle and loving with them after surgery.

What are your other cats' names? And do you have any photos of them you could share with us? We love to see photos here

Hi
and welcome to TCS!!

I've heard about some cats that are able to detect seizures before they occur...it's incredible!

We'd love to see some pictures of your furcrew

Welcome to the site!

Cats really are quite amazing... My Dori knows when I am getting a migraine. I usually lay down to try and get rid of the headache before it gets worse. When I do that, she curls up around my neck and lays her head on my cheek. This is the only time she lays like that.

We would love to hear more about your kitties and maybe even see pictures

to TCS! That really doesn't surprise me, but I still wonder how they do it. My father had grande mal seizures following a severe stroke, and one of the dogs always knew minutes before he had one that it was coming. She would go up to him, put her paw on his knee, whine, and look around for help.

It's really amazing. I understand how they are ahead of humans when it comes to natural disasters (i.e. sensing underground rumbling before an earthquake that we're just not equipt to hear), but their ability to read not just body language, but changes in body chemistry, etc. astound me.

It's great that you have them around to watch over you.
