I use to have a speech impediment as kid.

I use to pronounce "Christmas Tree" as "Kwith-math Thwee"

One day I was being goofy and B if he want "S-al-mon" for dinner. Now I get made fun of.

Oh and I also say "Oreenge" instead of "Orange"

American spell it differently because there was a typo on a patent somewhere in the late 1890s, and the accepted spelling of the actual metallic element is aluminium (its a pet peeve of mine after being marked down in a chemistry test in highschool when we had a US substitute teacher)

I don't blame you for being upset with that teacher. I hope you got your marks back for HER error.

Just another example of "ba**ardized" and butchered english.

I still insist on spelling some words the British way, i.e., colour, neighbour, etc. I just don't feel right if I see them without the "u".

Are there any words that you can't pronounce or am I the only one?

That is a hard word to say too, when I can't pronounce a word I just don't say it, I come up with another word that means about the same. Sometimes I just make up a words.

That drives DesirÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]e nuts though, she is a speech pathologist and she is always getting on to me for the way that I talk, I also use double negatives all the time, and that really drives her crazy.

I can pronounce "probably" but when I use it in a sentence it is usually "pry" as in, I'll pry have the steak tonight.

Although it depends who I'm talking to. Around friends, my speech is quite different than at work. At work I say "probably" Oh, hat's another one. Around my friends, I'll just say diff-ernt, two syllables.

It sounds simple but for some reason the word Jewelry always messes me up. I seriously have to say the word slowly otherwise it comes out sounding completely screwy.

I do pretty good unless I am tired or in a hurry.

As a child I tried saying scrumptious, but it came out "scumpus" and became a nickname used by my parents.

OK, maybe you guys can solve an argument!

Is it "Co-lander" or "Col-ander"(like a strainer)? I was talking to my friend last night & I say "co-lander". She looked at me really funny & said "You mane 'col-ander'? As in a strainer?". I've always said "co-lander"! Am I wrong?

This thread has proven to be immensly funny. I never knew about aluminum/aluminium...now I'm not sure I spelled that right either time!
